As @RunwithBitcoin underlines, there’s no “right way” to Bitcoin adoption. Just people trying, building, and learning. ⚡

Sometimes the system show you the path, the Bitcoin path. Having those issues may wake you up from what the reality is. Until the whole island is orange-pilled, we won’t stop! ⚡️

Yesterday, me and Clau were at Chedraui when we ran into this couple. They're originally from Africa but they lived in the states/ Canada. They were here on a one-week vacation on the island and somehow their cards got blocked. So they were like okay, we'll use Western Union. Have a friend send us money, pick it up here. Easy. They go to Electra, Banco Azteca. The lady tells them the system is down. Come back in an hour. They come back. Hand over their passports. And the girl goes… "sorry, we can't accept this passport. We don't have an agreement with your government." What???? This is the same passport that Mexican immigration used to let them into the country. But here, at a Western Union counter on a tiny island, it wasn't valid. And the ladies proceeded to laugh at her. Mind you, this couple doesn't speak a word of Spanish. They're tourist, their phones only work on WiFi, their SIM cards were also a shit show. Everything was just going against them. They ended up running into a cop who sent them to the Western Union at Chedraui. Another taxi paired with more waiting. So, Clau overheard them struggling with the clerk and jumped in to help./translate. That’s when they told us the whole story. Eventually we ended up helping them. But this is a reminder why bitcoin exists. This is why depending on intermediaries can go wrong. It may not happen to you today, but it can happen. This is why bitcoin is important. This whole thing could have been avoided. Using bitcoin to either get cash out from an ATM, or just use it directly on the island. You don’t need your country to be in agreement with the other. Heck, you don’t need a passport. Or the system to be down. When you WORK for your money, you should have access to it without asking for permission for it. Anywhere.

🎉 We have a winner! 🎉 After reading every single entry with care, the clear #1 spot goes to @codemana18 nominating his wife. From day one, Cody’s post stood out to me more than any other. The way he talked about wanting to send his wife so she could finally “get on board” with Bitcoin and have a break she truly deserves after having their 6th child… it was incredibly sincere, heartfelt, and real. It wasn’t just about one person learning Bitcoin. It felt like it could strengthen an entire family’s journey. That kind of genuine intention, combined with the perfect beginner setup for his wife. Cody, huge congratulations brother! 🙏 Your wife is going to @BTCIsla, and I’m genuinely excited for the impact this experience is going to have on her (and on your family). To everyone else who entered, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Reading your stories made this giveaway really special. The top 7 were all incredibly strong, and it wasn’t easy to choose. Bitcoin is better when we bring our families and loved ones along for the ride ❤️

for the past few weeks, BTC Isla was in a funk. we took some swings that didn't land. analyzed, adapted and pivoted. this week the video hit 30K views in 5 days, making it our best performing video in a while. the title? "I went all in on Bitcoin… and it almost destroyed me" apparently being honest about the hard parts hits different. we're SO back!

I created a course I wish I had back when I got into bitcoin years ago. This would have saved me hundreds of hours of bad advice and fake news.
isa⚡️@isabellasg3

Stop saying you want to learn Bitcoin and you don’t do anything about it. You know who you are, because I get DMs asking where to start, how, and they proceed to NOT learn. SOO…what did I do? I built the one thing I wish existed when I started. A 4 day in person course on Isla Mujeres (aka @BTCisla). It’s 5 classes with a Bitcoin professor from NYC. It includes all your meals, your stay, transportation on the island, gym sessions, yoga, cold plunge, tours. Everything. Plus when you arrive, we give you $100 in Bitcoin to spend with real merchants in the circular economy we've been building here for years. TDLR: You learn what Bitcoin is. You buy it. You store it. You actually use it. Nothing like this exists anywhere else in the world. April 9-12. We have a couple spots left, so LMK you're finally ready to stop asking and start knowing.
