Sold my car today. I bought it new in 2024. I had it for 18 months. Drove 11,178 miles. Got a pretty OK price for it. Under blue book, but I live in a poor region. All told, I spent about $8K (not counting maintenance) to have a car for that time, between what I paid and the sale price. Looking back over the last 18 months as a non-commuter: Yeah I probably could have taken all the trips I took for less than $8K using car rental and ridehailing. That’s both local trips and trips to other states. Would have sacrificed convenience, for sure, but it is food for thought for the non-commuting worker.

IMO the hyperbitcoinization dream will remain a dream. We need fiat. We need the worthless liquidity machine. It funds wars and garbage government programs, yes, and it also funds every unprofitable startup that ever changed the world. On a Bitcoin standard everyone becomes so risk-averse that nothing gets built. We need dirty press-of-a-button money to actually make stuff happen. Bitcoin and fiat will coexist and that's fine.

1. You spent much of March/April arguing China won and now you’re down to “China didn’t lose the most.” Do you see the creep of cognitive dissonance? 2. The war recentered price discovery around actual WTI delivery, not Brent paper. Along with Bessent’s moves and Trump’s war on the Fed, it looks like Treasury is reasserting itself as the engine of the American economy and the Fed is subordinate to this structure. Stablecoins, the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve, Trump Accounts, and the U.S. energy boom all point in the same direction: Hamiltonian America is back. 3.Good forecasts can confirm the accuracy of the forecaster’s worldview when the predictions were made. If reality keeps breaking your model and you keep adjusting the story instead, you’ve got a problem. It’s a trap you can’t get out of

@countbtc 1. Wrong about what in particular? 2. How would you define America "winning'? 3. Why do you think that would "destroy me"?

The Iran War (which according to many was going to hurt China most) instead demonstrated that China can quickly reduce oil consumption by 3-4 mb/d without a major hit to GDP while simultaneously giving China a big discount on gold they want to buy anyway. #MissionAccomplished

@CloudCatMedia @creation247 @RyanTheGentry So much happening in the thermostat world. Mamdani press conference where he joins the 78 degree club, France blaming American thermostats for the death toll there… I warned people, you need a thermostat strategy. I did my best to prepare you all

Fahrenheit is superior to Celsius and I’m tired of pretending this is a debate. Fahrenheit feels like temperature was designed by an human being who walks outside, feels the air, and says, “Yeah, that makes sense.” Zero is freezing. 100 is brutally hot. 70 is comfortable. 80 is warm. The numbers feel like what they are describing. Celsius feels like it was designed by a committee of people who hate joy and want every conversation about the weather to sound like a chemistry lab. “It’s 22 degrees outside.” What does that even mean to a normal person? Am I wearing shorts? Am I grabbing a jacket? Nobody knows. You need a conversion chart and a government employee standing next to you explaining the vibes. Fahrenheit gives you range. That’s the point. It gives you more numbers for the temperatures human beings actually live in. You can feel the difference between 68, 72, 76, and 80. Those numbers matter. Fahrenheit lets you describe the world with more precision without having to break into decimals like a lunatic. And here’s the other thing... Celsius is connected to the metric cult energy that came out of the French Revolution. And the French Revolution was evil. Both of the Revolution were to rip out tradition, faith, monarchy, hierarchy, the Church, the calendar, the clock, and anything that reminded man he was not God. CELSIUS IS INHERENTLY EVIL So yes, Celsius may be useful if you’re boiling water in a lab. Congratulations. But Fahrenheit is for living LIFE because Fahrenheit is for walking outside and instantly knowing what kind of day you’re about to have. 100 means hot. 70 means beautiful. Zero means don’t go outside unless you have a death wish. That’s a real system.

Last night, storms shut down Freedom 250 on the Mall and forced evacuations. Over the night, 1,200 rained-out patriots found refuge at PubKey DC. Behind the scenes, DC's extreme heat killed our HVAC and coolers. We lost every pound of meat and dairy in the building, right before the 4th. A short-handed crew restocked, rebuilt, and reopened without missing a beat. Then served the biggest night in PubKey DC's history. Resilience. Steadfast resolve. Grace under pressure. A true American Miracle, 250 years in the making. Proud of this team. 🇺🇸 🧡🍻🙏

PROFESSOR JIANG XUEQIN CLAIMS #BITCOIN WAS CREATED BY THE CIA: "WHY WOULD YOU SPEND YEARS, POSSIBLY DECADES, IN YOUR BASEMENT CREATING A NEW TECHNOLOGY AND THEN JUST GIVE IT FOR FREE TO THE WORLD?" "THAT MAKES NO SENSE." "WHEN YOU DO GAME THEORY ANALYSIS, YOU LOOK AT ALL POSSIBILITIES" "YOU END UP WITH THE DEEP STATE. YOU END UP WITH THE CIA."

Japan is America’s greatest ally and it’s not even close. Japan doesn’t pull us into endless foreign wars or disparage our nation and citizens constantly. Japan celebrates America. Japanese love American culture and Americans love Japanese culture. Japanese love grilling meat. Americans love grilling meat. Japan loves air conditioning. America loves air conditioning. Happy 250th birthday, America 🇺🇸 and cheers to Japan 🇯🇵
