We’ve been chatting with Shayne about potentially helping polymarket with sports markets for over a year. None of his conduct or what i’ve seen on the platform has ever lead me to suspect they did or are doing smth wrong. On the surface there seems to be 2 things law&order can be crossed about: 1. Access to site by US residents. On this - blocking US access via IP is a widely used practice by websites where people can predict/bet. Doesnt seem like they did it differently than many other sizeable websites in the same vertical. 2. The probabilities shown on the US elections race and if there was any hope/attempt to sway opinion with it (what everyone seems to think its about) That one is super tricky cause the way it works on Poly is that market making the order book is part of the core product. It is not something transparent so its hard to say how big a part this plays and who plays it. But its just how it works so that the markets can be usable for normal people. It is not really different on traditional betting sites which have odds on the elections. They will use some non-transparent criteria to set the odds.
