@Perpetual_BTC 110 is not protecting Bitcoin, it is a divergent enforcement of our consensus. 80% of nodes have already spoken. It is the Knots side that is free to stick to their protocol. Hopefully the nuance is not lost on you. Bitcoin will keep mining blocks as per the consensus.

Consensus is just a bunch of nodes ( like yours) who end up agreeing on something. Not every nodes will get what they specifically want but most will. You have 80% of the nodes in the network telling you ( the 20% running knots) that blocks with spam are valid. You can either accept that or reject the blocks with spam and begin a chain of your own, that’s what BIP 110 is for.

@BTCisfemale Sure, as long as consensus is not that Bitcoin blockchain is a dumping place for all kinds of spam and junk but is used as a pure monetary network as described in the original whitepaper.

“Technical Consensus” This simple phrase encapsulates the Fabian capture of Bitcoin. It has been fabricated by having an established small “core” of (opinionated) developers, that then “mentor” (indoctrinate their opinions) a surrounding slightly larger group. Also, in parallel, have an apparatus of non-developer disciples that praise (blindly) and support them all. That’s Bitcoin Core. I am technical, and I disagree with the design choices they have made. You see, Bitcoin has been incorporating changes that go against its first principles. Which used to be just 1: 1. Don’t change the rules, or you’ll fork off. But SegWit, as a softfork that added block space by introducing a discount, opened a new venue. And the crypto dev virus entered and has grown and spread. Bitcoin needs course correction back to its conservative rules, and FIRE all these fiat devs that are destroying everything that made it different from the rest of crypto. RDTS/BIP110 is that vote. Stand in line during the contentious period by: - Using a Full Node that is BIP110 ready (just use Knots as is the most reviewed nowadays). - Mining (BIP110 blocks) if you have the means (including renting hash). - Do MANY transactions (better if they are legacy non-discounted), while watching both sides of the chain to be certain they confirm (ideally on both sides, but MOST importantly on the RDTS side). Then repeat. And we will win.

@uanbtc So true. In the future it is possible that Knots would become the majority of nodes. Not today though. Until then, the consensus will continue deciding what blocks are valid or not.

You can brand consensus however you like, 80% of the nodes in the bitcoin network’s will recognize and validate blocks containing spam. You can’t demand knots nodes to be taken seriously when you can’t even acknowledge the other 80% of the network. Technical Consensus, opinionated, small core group, indoctrinate their opinions … 😓 the projection is next level.

They are coming after our nodes. They believe our nodes don't matter. Without us pesky nodes they can turn Bitcoin into whatever they want. Signal BIP110

@BitcoinBombadil If Bitcoin as money it is so undisputed, how come so many blocks containing spam continue to be mined by nodes running Core and validated by the majority of nodes in the bitcoin network? Is it possible that it is not as undisputed as you think it is?

Money is Bitcoin’s indisputable purpose. Any change made to Bitcoin should serve the only “consensus” that exists in Bitcoin… it’s Money Therefore, real Bitcoiners run Knots + BIP-110 to that end.🛡️

@mamabile777 Respectfully, a shitcoiner (back in the good old days) was an adopter of an altcoin. An altcoin is an off shoot of usually Bitcoin created by a group who think they know better than the Bitcoin network consensus. I believe this makes BIP110 the shitcoin. Respectfully.

I think BIP-110 is more likely to win than lose but I gotta say that I am disappointed to hear some Plebs saying they will give up on Bitcoin if we lose and will shift to gold or stocks. Those don’t threaten fiat, they strengthen it or caused it. Put more thought into it plz.

@MajorianBTC Remember that when the network consensus doesn’t care about the 110 perimeters and pushes blocks with spam in it. The majority of the network will move on with that chain so unbothered why? Because it will be valid. Hope you won’t be upset then too.
