@LoveIsBitcoin21 stupid argument: ALL file sharing protocols on the internet use TCP/IP. fricken nonsense. stop it. #Bitcoin is a tcp-ip sub-protocol of its own, like none before it.

@rodpalmerhodl true, you validate the power of your #centralization. good for you.

if you paid $900 for a node you have no choice but try to convince yourself this is true

ALL nodes are economic nodes. Few understand this.

@soapminer1 @TheSurvivalPodc @bendthekne3 Start9's company node, the one we use to sell servers and pay out employees, is Knots/BIP-110.
StartOS itself is completely and irrevocably neutral by design. We don't and wouldn't want to restrict anything

@rodpalmerhodl Virtue == #Truth. Some people can't handle truth. Truth lasts forever.

It's temporary to make sure it doesn't close any doors that shouldn't have been closed. Taproot had consensus, and would probably have been good if people actually used it for it's stated purposes. However, >99,9 of the OP_IFs on-chain today aren't, and weren't even ever intended to be executable, so something clearly has to be done about that.
And I personally have no idea why any bitcoiner would ever need more than a 40 bytes-sized OP_RETURN field ever, since you can fit a hash of anything into that.
BIP-110 is a tiny temporary tightening of the rules to send a clear signal to all the scammers that:
1) Bitcoin is money
2) You're not, and will never be, welcome here
3) We can and will work against you and make your lives harder
4) Bitcoin's users make the rules, not you
Etc. etc.
Also, the worst thing that can even theretically happen to honest bitcoin users is that they'll be forced to hodl for a year (and it takes quite a lot of skill to put yourself in that position).
I have no idea why anyone except the scammers themselves would have anything against it 🤷♂️

@SpaceXEduX @steverabinow it just moves, what was previously configurable with a suoer relay policy override, to be "concensus required". once workarounds are established by spammers, then more rules can be set for those as well. so.... filtering works, in reality. Core just pretends otherwise.
English

@btctrek @steverabinow Right but when ordinals et al modify their protocols libre relay will forward these consensus valid transactions.
This is why the bip saying the real place to fix this in policy is confusing to say the least.
