@Nicoletta0602 But if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought. George Orwell, 1984 The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. George Orwell, 1984

Given that Red Delicious are the worst apples, have you ever wondered why they’re in every school cafeteria? It’s because there’s a list of "approved" apple varieties allowed in schools, and it hasn’t changed since Kmart sold firearms.

@RayAlexWilliams The point being, it’s a psychiatric disorder requiring mental health treatment, not destruction of one’s endocrine system and the mutilation of one’s sex specific anatomy.

The fact gender identity disorder requires unique treatment protocols doesn’t thereby entail it’s not a legitimate psychiatric disorder. Nothing in medicine makes it logically impossible for a psychiatric disorder and treatment protocol to be unique relative to other disorders.

I don’t believe you believe that. You’re thrashing around in a mental health episode.

"I guarantee you, none of these accomplishments were handed to me because I am black." Ian, you were admitted to BCM through their Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) program, which seeks to "increase the number of underrepresented students in biomedical sciences" by providing funding, academic support, and training for literally all groups except for able-bodied straight white men. To qualify for that program, you just had to not be an able-bodied straight white man and submit an essay describing your "lived or specialized experiences." No GRE scores required. No minimum GPA. And your application is subjected to a "holistic review." This program was funded by the NIH and explicitly discriminated against people like me. What an absolute joke.

South Sudanese migrant Nyadol Nyuon announced this month that she plans to return her Order of Australia medal and renounce Australian citizenship after an $800,000 tax payer funded DEI project she ran collapsed in on itself. The Victorian state government committed $800,000 in public money to the "WorkWell Respect Network'' at Victoria University - a project meant to protect diverse women in high-risk workplaces from gendered violence. The project was supposed to organise four public forums on the subject of gendered violence but it is unclear how many forums ever actually took place. Nyuon wrote to the university requesting more resources after struggling to meet project dead lines. The university brought in three additional staff but this was apparently not enough. The project's independent evaluator, which has expertise in multicultural programs, concluded it wasn't possible to do their job, citing mismanagement and ''psychosocial culture and instability.'' Nyuon said systemic racism contributed to the collapse of the project. "This is a typical everyday experience of being a black woman, especially a black woman in a position of leadership," Ms Nyuon said. Another person involved in the project, who identifies as a mixed-race woman, said she was concerned allegations of racism were being "used as a stick to make people fall in line", which she said was "inappropriate" and "reinforced a stereotype that multicultural programs are difficult to work with.'' Nyuon denies all wrong doing and was hospitalised for collapsing during the latter stages of the project, with her mental health impacted significantly.

It is nothing but misogyny. They actively prevented women from taking part in scientific research, from exploring even the known world, and instead of being able to tinker, we were forced into the domestic sphere and kept there. We have no idea what kind of achievements women might have been capable of, because they were never allowed to try. It is highly likely that, lacking the male capacity for violence, women could have helped to create a more peaceful world, had we been allowed to participate in building it.

We need to have a serious discussion about how to fix these teen takeovers. Nearly EVERY time, the crowd is OVERWHELMINGLY Black, but we are not allowed to notice that because that's racist... ...so how do we fix this? Seriously, what is the ACTUAL solution here???

Wonderfully clear ruling- that anyone is entitled to hold privately transphobic views, but to repeatedly misgender someone on the basis of those views is 'gratuitous, disrespectful and unnecessary', and did not advance the defense. A win for basic manners. 👏🏳️‍⚧️

The LIRR is the nation’s busiest commuter train line, and that would not be possible without their dedicated workers. I am proud to stand with the LIRR workforce as they demand a fair wage increase. This country was built on the backs of workers and it’s time that we have their backs in this fight.

Yes this is exactly what I am saying — the so-called "antimonopoly" movement is not about monopolies, competition, or antitrust policy at all. It's a movement that wants to greatly expand the scope of central planning.
Morgan Ricks@MorganRicks1

It's a banal point but competition is often dysfunctional in network industries and the more dysfunctional it is, the more likely it is that economic regulation (which has both advantages and disadvantages) may compare favorably.

Why is Elon Musk melting down over #TheOdyssey and the Oscars? "Every best picture winner in the Academy’s 98-year history — from the 'Wings' in 1929 through 'One Battle After Another' this past March — clears the Oscars' new inclusion rules. That also includes 'Oppenheimer,' the film directed by Christopher Nolan, with whom Elon Musk had no problem until this past week. And Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of Homer’s 'The Odyssey,' whenever the Academy gets a look at it, would also clear the inclusion standards, and it’s not because Lupita Nyong’o was cast as Helen of Troy," writes Variety's Clayton Davis. variety.com/2026/film/awar…
