This only ever makes modern games worse for me. PUBG was fun for the first 10 hours and only gets less fun from there. BOTW and TOTK had enjoyable stories but I dared to keep playing after that and grew to resent all the fluff.

It ought to have been tossed into the nearest municipal dump centuries ago. It's worth observing that Benvenuto Cellini, who aspired to surpass Michelangelo, at least never produced anything so preposterously misjudged as David. The problem with David, aside from the obvious fact that he is not even remotely attractive, is not that it is wholly without merit, but it tries a trifle too hard to become what it so clearly wishes to be: lofty, heroic, & divine. It overshoots its mark & arrives in failure. That failure is visible to me. I'd scacely trouble myself to criticise David if it merely figured as one element within some greater sculptural compostion: but, instead, it stands there in solitary self-complacency, as if engaged in the silent celebration of virtues which it does not posseesss. As for Michelangelo himself: he agreed with me. He diddn't regard David as a fine work of art all. My evidence: he did not sign it, though he did sign the Pietà; it belongs to his earlier period; and, most importantly, it is not, objectively speaking, a great work of art.
