Hell at this rate Blasey Ford will have a recovered memory about Swalwell placing a hand on her knee sometime between 1970 and 1990.

There’s actually significant corroboration here. Far, far more evidence than Christine Blasey Ford ever had against Brett Kavanaugh—which Eric Swalwell argued was disqualifying. Not only must he drop out of the governor’s race—he needs to resign from Congress.
Jennifer Van Laar@jenvanlaar

"Five years later, the woman said, she attended an April 2024 charity gala where Swalwell was honored. The woman, who no longer worked for Swalwell, said they met for drinks afterward, during which she became so inebriated that she only remembers snippets of the night, including pushing Swalwell away and telling him, “No,” while he allegedly forced himself on her.'

The New York Times reports that 12 of the ~1500 January 6 rioters have reoffended in about a year's time—calling it a "crime spree". The recidivism rate of the J6ers is 0.8%. The average 1 year US re-arrest rate, by contrast, is 43%. funny how that works

This is the best 5 minutes and 50 seconds I have spent in quite a long time. I encourage anyone and everyone to watch. The amazing thing is that ALL OF IT has been in plain sight for a very long time, yet very few people have seen it or are seeing it. It's the genius of Trump. He intentionally creates a bombastic, almost clownish facade that purposely obscures his exquisite grasp and attainment of strategic goals. Most people fall into Trump's trap--but not this British commentator. He lays bare exactly what America's geopolitical strategy is, but the thing is--it's always been bare and always been obvious and always been in plain sight. You just had to see past the deception plan.

It’s about 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 — and America is winning on every front. Start with oil. The Strait of Hormuz carries 𝟒𝟓% 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚’𝐬 𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲. Trump effectively captured Venezuela’s oil supply in January. As Armstrong put it: “𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘸𝘩𝘰’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘯. 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴.” China is in the middle of a tariff negotiation with Trump — and suddenly its entire energy supply depends on American goodwill. Then Europe. With Russian energy off the table and domestic energy hollowed out by the “𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘣𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘦𝘵 𝘻𝘦𝘳𝘰,” Europe is becoming 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐬. Armstrong: “𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰𝘰.” Armstrong connected the dots to what the Pentagon calls 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 — Greenland through the Panama Canal, the entire Western Hemisphere secured as a self-sufficient American economic and security zone. “𝘕𝘰 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘥, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦-𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘯. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢.” The most striking part was his warning for Britain: “𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺. 𝘞𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 60% 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥. 𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘫𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺. 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥.” He described Britain heading toward 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 as America withdraws from its traditional role. When a foreign ally’s own news anchors are publicly acknowledging that Trump’s strategy is working — even as it leaves them behind — that tells you everything about who has the leverage. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐭: 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐨𝐬. 𝐇𝐞’𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬.

@StephenCMeyer It may be that certain long-tail phenomena that randomly emerge provide such clarion advantage for fitness that they defy our current statistical models or intuitions. None of this obviates the wonder of such a universe having been selected for among all the trillion variables.

@StephenCMeyer IMHO the apparent fine-tuning of the constants from physics is exponentially beyond biological arguments. We don't fully understand evolutionary mechanisms, and while it may be (very interestingly) held that there was not enough time for all the optimizations, that's unclear.

Do you understand what Melania Trump just did? She just called for the Epstein survivors to be put in front of Congress and testify under oath. Why when they’ve been so damn nasty? When the Epstein survivors first came about, I was very sympathetic because I have a sympathetic heart for victims. But then I understood who funded them. Then I understood they were dead silent when Joe Biden was President but wanted to get loud when Trump became president. Melania Trump just said to them all, testify under oath or STFU.

First Lady Melania Trump calls on Congress to provide the “Epstein Survivors” with a PUBLIC HEARING “Give these victims the opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress with the power of sworn testimony.” See what she did there? 😉 rumble.com/v78a8ra-first-…

The mask off moment was always going to come for the reasons both openly declared and exhibited in this thread. The notion of Islam paying tribute to “pluralism” and consenting to live within the constraints of “liberalism” rather than making instrumental use of both to obtain the power to rule is of course a complete joke.

@BachShakespeare @BretVDB I don't have a problem with the physics since I believe that if God created the universe, He created its scientific laws that He can subvert by His will. Nor do I interpret Genesis as a scientific treatise. But I hear you about liberal Christianity. It's anemic. Not a fan.

“Hell is often supposed to be an after-death state created by God in which people are eternally tortured for finite offences. But this doctrine is merely one more example of the depravity of the human mind that thought it up. Man alone is responsible for hell, and much as he would like to pursue his cruelties beyond the grave, he is blocked from doing so. God’s interest in this hell is confined to ‘harrowing’ or redeeming those who are in it. At the same time there are honesty, love, neighbourliness, generosity, and the creative powers in the arts and sciences. Human life appears to be a mingling of two ultimate realities, which we call heaven and hell. Hell is the world created by man, and heaven, or at least the way to it, is the world created through man by God.” —Northrop Frye, The Double Vision

@SitLibertas @BretVDB Yes even liberal Christian elisions here do not quite work. E.g. that hell is just a separation from God. For eternity? Or the watering down of Jesus's numerous invocations of Gehenna. IMHO it's the biggest problem with Christianity, long before the "physics problems".

@BachShakespeare @BretVDB Berdyaev noted that the idea of infinite suffering is contradictory. Suffering only occurs in time. So, the idea of infinite Hell is not tenable. This may not pass philosophical muster but is an intriguing thought.

@SitLibertas @BretVDB There is a weird hinterland question of whether it would be beneficent for canonical Christians to engage in ecumenical discourse with agnostics and atheists, not with the goal of converting them, but to elucidate the degree of convergence possible, re the question of faith/doubt

@SitLibertas @BretVDB Well this is where I am, expiation but not infinite. I wonder if one can be a Christian who believes thusly, or if this too much obviates the entire premise of the economy of salvation. As an agnostic lapsed Catholic, I don't have a dog in this fight. Except the dialogue.

@theoeides4 The Harold Goddard essays are a pellucid guide to the plays. Once students learn to parse the alternate sentence structure of Shakespeare and the coiled clauses, much becomes intelligible. Paglia said 1/3 remains turgidly opaque. She's brilliant but overstates the percent.

I've seen a lot of people saying that Scott Wiener is troubled by his conscience here bc he's been brought face-to-face with what his legislation has done to gay kids. I don't think that's it. He just looks angry to me. I see a man furious that a kid is threatening his beautiful plan to normalize the mutilation and sterilization of children and frustrated as hell that he can't shout him down in this setting.

@shadihamid Islam is finally a totalizing force in a way that Christianity, which has long tolerated a division between church and state, is not. A Western nation should only absorb a certain small % of Muslims or there will be sharia and trouble.

Most American Muslims aren't immigrants. They're born and raised here. And they're not that different from the Republican base when it comes to questions of homosexuality, gender, and family. We don't ask Republicans to "assimilate" into American liberal culture. 1/
