Each year, B.A.T. (Baseball Assistance Team) presents The Bobby Murcer Award to the teams in each league whose players raise the most money to assist those in the baseball family who are in need.
The 2026 winners are the Los Angeles Angels (AL) and the New York Mets (NL).

Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns told him, “I did not shop you around.” Nimmo said that Stearns told him the Rangers wanted Nimmo and how “it got to a point where we felt like this is beneficial for both sides.”
Nimmo asked at one point during talks with Stearns, “Why am I not part of the solution?”

Francisco Lindor will not be playing for Team Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic after having a cleanup procedure on his right elbow this offseason. Lindor will be a full participant in spring training. Full statement from the @MLBPA: "Due to the cleanup procedure that Francisco Lindor had on his right elbow earlier this offseason, he will not be participating for team Puerto Rico in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Francisco is obviously disappointed that he will be unable to participate. However, because of WBC insurance constraints, he is ineligible to play in WBC games. He will participate fully in all spring training activities."

3 inches of straight ice I had to scrap off to open my front door. Can’t make a snow man or snow angel out of that northerns. Side note I drove all day on top of this because Fort Worth does not have infrastructure to clear it.

Within the last week, the New York Mets have added the frontline starter they needed, the big bat they needed and the center fielder they needed. Offseasons are long. A slow November and December does not preclude a monster January. And that's exactly what the Mets unleashed.
