@blames_ Mine was Griffey Jr. but I was was devastated when A-Rod didn’t happen and then later when he was traded to the Yankees. Steve Phillips at some point admitted he was running cover for the Wilpons.

Update : The Mets have been telling teams that, unlike the ‘23 deadline where they took on over $85 million to move the Scherzer and Verlander contracts for better prospects, they have no desire to pay down contracts to that extreme at this year’s deadline.
Jim Duquette@JimDuquetteGM

On Lindor, I was told that the Mets would listen on him in a deal. But two teams that are “buyers” told me it’s a difficult trade to consider because of the length of contract, his lmtd NTC and that he has not played well so far this season. So the Mets would have to take back a considerable amount of money.  Another team  called him “immovable right now “

My number one rule is to never compromise the integrity of the game. AI on iPads in the dugout and the supposed use for it is simply unacceptable. Just fucking play baseball

The possibility of trading Francisco Lindor is unlikely and any team that expresses interest would have to “clear a high bar,” per @WillSammon. Sammon also noted: “Lindor actively engages in any conversation concerning the Mets’ future. A person close to him said he doesn’t want out of New York; he is comfortable with the team and loves the city — and wants to win with the Mets.”

The possibility of the Mets trading Francisco Lindor remains "unlikely," per The Athletic's Will Sammon and Ken Rosenthal The Mets viewing Lindor as a valuable player is cited as one reason among many why a Lindor trade is not seen as much of a possibility Sammon and Rosenthal add that a person close to Lindor indicated that he wants to remain in New York with the Mets and win in Queens
