What I have learned from this is that if you want to really anger people who use AI to generate pictures, you tell them they're not real artists. They can't stand it.

@FountainCartoon The "it's a tool" thing is also nonsense in the first place, because you can't just ask a tool to spit out the work fully formed. Only ai does that, making the person using ai a beggar, not a creator

It’s the same, tired, circular argument. “It’s a tool” A tool that steals. “It’s not stealing” It’s literally trained on artwork without the artists’ consent, compensation or credit. “Artists are influenced by other artists” Algorithmic data scraping is not comparable to Cognitively learning from another human being. “People hated photography, digital art and CGI” Those things don’t steal. “It’s not stealing” And around, and around, and around, and around, and around, and around, and around, and around… #NoToGenerativeAI

I have been tourturing myself all weekend moving things around the house. If I end up not liking the layout as much as I thought I would when I set out to do this, somebody needs to come physically beat the stupid out of me.

@tohofuny I think that consoles are only clinging on because of a few things. They're effectively subsidized, Microsoft are a bunch of fuckups, and linux isn't there yet.

Consoles stopped being more convenient in the 7th gen.

one more thing i hate about AI is the omnivoice. same voice wrote your boss’ email wrote the tweet wrote the article. horrible narrowing of affect

@GrahamC47 As I understand and remember, before XP things were difficult. XP just worked. Vista was power hungry and got put on too many computers too weak to handle it. 7 also just worked. 8 felt like a phone instead of a computer. 10 felt like a computer again but is loaded with spyware

I’m a technology moron but outside of the obnoxious tablet-y squares, I can barely tell the difference between any of these. Everyone always freaks out every time they change it, and I just don’t notice at all.
