@Burner1634443 It's Al Hashimi's first day and she's already figured it out! I think the idea that there's no way it remained secret for 7 months sounds totally plausible to me, and maybe nobody wants to discuss it with Santos for obvious reasons.

@Bagodictionary In the same scene where it is clearly a shock to Al Hashimi that he stole drugs?

@Burner1634443 It's right there in the first post you responded to. Yeah we hear Santos say that she believes this is the case. She might be wrong! x.com/Bagodictionary…
Bag Odix@Bagodictionary

@Burner1634443 I mean we don't know how many people know or don't know. We know Santos has an opinion on it but that's not the same as very explicitly establishing that it's the case

@Burner1634443 I am asking you why you believe that is the opposite of what the show is telling us. What about the reality the show has presented contradicts that theory?

@Burner1634443 I don't see what's so implausible about the suggestion that the gossip-attuned staff might have figured it out, and that more people know than either Langdon or Santos realize. I mean, Dr. Al + like 8 other bystanders found out in this episode alone lol

@Bagodictionary The only real wiggle room here is whether or not its just robby langdon and santos who know, or if garcia and dana know.

@AyeDereKells @TriggerTrey__ It's short sighted, rich people are voting for their short term interests but against their long term interests.

@TriggerTrey__ Wouldn’t it make sense to vote for your own individual interests? I mean it is YOUR vote.

I’ve talked before about a new band I’m trying to get moving and it’s still going well we just need a rhythm guitarist. But something that sucks is that there’s someone I used to be in a band with who’d be a perfect fit that has unfortunately gone down a right wing rabbit hole

@1800clockit @hisugarfoxx @aJackBurton i don't think Jake is quite at the level of like a Dafoe or Hoffman but he's somebody who actually does character work, can't imagine Leo disappearing into a role like Nightcrawler. Closest we've got in KOTFM imo

The best actor of all time is Leonardo DiCaprio, who has ONE singular Oscar therefore the whole industry is a myth, it is dead to me, it is a hoax, it cannot be taken seriously.

@1800clockit @hisugarfoxx @aJackBurton Why is everybody acting like DiCaprio is so good lmao he's got great presence but he's more of a movie star who just coasts by more or less playing himself in every movie. He's more of a John Wayne or Tom Cruise caliber performer than like a Philip Seymour Hoffman

@ladiedbird wha??? it read to us as a "Dr. Santos is way more chaotic than you previously imagined" I personally love that she threatened the guy but I think the expected reaction is for you to be horrified that she's doing something so wildly unethical and placing her career in jeopardy!

don | buck whump aftermath
so tired of the “santos threatened a child molester” argument bc yeah there are multiple issues with that storyline but from a narrative standpoint it’s pretty explicitly framed as a redeeming moment for her

@Bullitfhr And furthermore, Lockjaw is completely believable in his own right. Fascism may be dehumanizing, but it still has to get bootstrapped into being by weird humans like Bongino and Hegseth whose neurotic psychosexual traits are a matter of public record!

@Bullitfhr I think this is a valid take but I don't agree. The film understands that fascism is dehumanizing; the two agents of fascism that display those pesky human traits (Lockjaw and Avanti) get killed by their own faction; the film agrees with you on this incompatibility.

Valid, but I read the portrayal of the left more generously. We do see the point where F75 fucks up and implodes, but that inflection point doesn't necessarily represent the movement as a whole. Likewise we see Sensei operating effectively, but maybe there will be a point where
Depresseanpaul@Depresseanpaul

@PunishedCommie Imo ppl are upset OBAA isn’t Vineland, it isn’t the 70s anymore! The western left lost! This movie is pointing out the complete asymmetry of resources and ideological coherence of the radical left vs the militarised racialised police state.

@Bullitfhr There's been a lot of ink spilled on how Sensei represents a more pragmatic approach to activism, but I think the main thrust is that the sort of strident action F75 used to take just isn't possible anymore. Fascism is winning and revolution is on the backburner.

@Bullitfhr As I stated, Sensei finds himself compelled to action by the threat to himself *and his community*. If he and his network have ambitions to liberate people from detention centers French 75 style, it's beyond the scope of what we see.
