Is it fraud or growth hack? Changing your LinkedIn location to the USA so you get more clients or job offers. I see this as a pretty common thing even in my circle and people who do this don’t even have a visa to visit the USA. I don’t know how they continue to lie when they meet people for jobs.

I have a super critical question: I will join a run for the first time in my life for 5K. Now that I’m in US. Is this 5K miles or kilometers?

@BahadirEfeoglu I am not sure but my clients using it say that Shopify is still missing a lot of the key features they use in Stocky so not sure why there is a rush to get rid of it. I thought we were in this amazing age of AI.

The better move for Shopify here is to keep Stocky around longer. Keeping legacy software running seems like an easy task for AI.
Bahadır@BahadirEfeoglu

I've seen so many complaints from Stocky users about @Shopify not providing a reliable alternative for soon-to -be-sunsetted Stocky's features. It is great to see that was heard by $SHOP team and acted on quickly! Despite the fact that my company has been building inventory-related features for merchants, I honestly would love to see more updates in this direction. It simply raises the bar and makes merchants happier. While Shopify offers the fundamental tools for all merchants, we will keep offering high value-add features like demand forecasting and allocation optimisations.

@jzazove @tobi Lack of this in the early days motivated devs to start building billing solutions for shopify apps

We simplified usage-based billing for app developers with Shopify App Pricing. Now devs don't have to build custom billing, and merchants get a transparent experience that builds confidence in your app.

New entrants will never know the hoops we jumped through since 2020 trying to fit our dynamic billing to restrictive billing logic of Shopify! I am sure everyone who solved this on their own, at least once thought “since we build it so far, let’s build a billing API for Shop apps” Happy for the ecosystem 🙌

I am a little too young to remember it firsthand, but didn’t Enron tried this exact playbook with internet bandwidth futures? Also failed for two reasons that feel familiar here: they didn’t actually own any bandwidth (borderline fraud), and bandwidth was never a standardized commodity to begin with. The standardisation part seems like the issue for tokens too. How do you address it?

Compute futures have arrived: quarterly, monthly & yearly contracts on Nvidia H100/H200 prices trading on Architect. Purpose-built for companies with exposure to GPU price volatility. Intuitive trading interface, instant settlement, our team online 24/7.

After spending a week in San Francisco, I started to believe that “human-led services” will be sold at a premium. Not so far in the future, you will pay extra for having a human cook, driver and maybe friends…

@hunkybill Small merchants who needs COGS only for fiscal reporting appreciate this solution. This is a low-frequency, low-value task for many businesses so they appreciate the solution. I don't know what makes it a fake if it solves a problem?

There are 18,799 apps on the @Shopify app store. Most apps solve one tiny problem and charge $5–$50/month for it. In the age of AI, that’s absurd. So we built a free COGS calculator (FIFO, LIFO, Avg). No signup. No trial. No paywall. No server-side processing. Some tools just shouldn’t be businesses. Grab it here: fabrikator.io/cogs-calculato…

I just had an international flight to the US and I was worried about the long waiting times due to the govt shutdown. Surprisingly it only took 5 minutes for me to pass the border control because I skipped the 200 people line thanks to the MPC (mobile passport control) app. Thanks to the random Redditor who shared this tip!
