Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. In a statement, Netanyahu said his annual medical report had been delayed by two months at his request to avoid its release during the height of the war, saying this was to prevent what he described as “false propaganda” by Iran. “I had a minor medical issue with my prostate that was completely treated. Thank God, it’s behind me,” he said, adding that he is now in “excellent physical condition”. Netanyahu said he had undergone successful surgery for an enlarged benign prostate about a year and a half ago. During a recent check-up, doctors discovered “a tiny spot of less than a centimetre” in the prostate. “Upon examination, it turned out to be a very early-stage malignant tumour, with no spread or metastasis whatsoever,” he said. He added that he underwent targeted treatment which removed the tumour completely, leaving no remaining signs of the disease. (NewsWire)
