@BallDiamondBall

I'll tell you what the woke right is: I support Trump and every R against any D and I will turn out and vote. If this makes you mad -- you are the woke right.

@WatcherontheWeb I've become a huge fan of the idea that no human can actually understand or anticipate (with anything but the basest cynicism) another human more than 1-sigma different in IQ. Might as well be different species.

@Rothmus @Objectobot That s a total wrong interpretation of communism but of course it suited for those who exploit others or things for their personal goal or ego. The term comes community that means it's not about the individual for that purpose there s the spiritual realm. So communism is share

So Republicans gave in. Again. Anyone else starting to feel like Republicans never seem to come through for us? Democrats are horrible but somehow, they manage to get things done. Just look at Virginia … Republicans stranded us in more ways than one. Sorry, just so damned disappointed. And tired. We fight and we fight and we put ourselves out there and for what? Republicans won’t even pass a bill 80% of Americans want. But what options do conservatives have? Or in my case, conservatarians? Democrats are insane and dangerous. Libertarians are just insane. And don’t even get me started on the anti-Israel wackjobs pretending to be conservatives. *sigh* I know, I’m doom posting … apologies. Maybe I’ll feel better after some coffee.

I have been silent about this for a long time, but I can no longer keep quiet about it in good conscience. The "Strait" of Hormuz isn't straight at all. It's super crooked. You can see in the helpful graphic I put together below. The elites don't want you to know this.

There is a serious constitutional crisis when the legislative branch of the federal government is unable to legislate because of self-imposed ‘extra-constitutional’ rules and procedures. The Byrd Rule… named for a long-dead Democrat leader who appears to control the Senate from the grave. The filibuster rule that can’t work because of some long ago interpretation of the filibuster process. The question is whether the Senate leaders will continue to allow their foolish adherence to arcane rules and procedures to create this constitutional crisis. They say they won’t “nuke” the filibuster. But they also won’t overturn the long ago ruling by a parliamentarian who “interpreted” the 2-speech rule to mean the filibuster can never ever end. As we have had to learn more about the Senate rules, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Senate is refusing to protect the filibuster by overturning the interpretation that makes the filibuster impossible to end without a supermajority. That’s a constitutional crisis and rather than seriously address the issue and the procedures and the rules, the Senators left town. So disgraceful. We will know soon enough where these Senators went if they traveled during the recess. How many went on junkets. Who had fundraising trips. What they did rather than face their responsibilities. Like funding DHS. Like securing our elections. Like addressing this constitutional crisis they have allowed to take over the Senate and that they refuse to remedy. This is not what the voters bargained for. This irresponsible bunch of Senators who refuse to protect the Senate and ensure its ability to function to serve the people. They’re mad at @BasedMikeLee for calling this all into public view. On full display so we now see it - understand it. And hate it. But he’s not the problem. They just didn’t want the public to ever find out. But now we know. And we are disgusted. @EIwatchdogs @BasedMikeLee @chiproytx

The Senate GOP has exactly two options if it wants to avoid drifting into irrelevance and a stunning loss in November: (1) Keep the filibuster and 60-vote cloture rule fully intact, but stand ready to overcome Senate Democrats’ unprecedented pattern of obstruction by aggressively enforcing the “talking filibuster”—a move that would require senators to work longer, harder hours and take fewer recesses, but lead to more thoughtful, careful deliberation in the legislative process, OR (2) Nuke the filibuster. I strongly prefer the first option. But we must choose either one or the other—because the status quo isn’t working and the resulting inertia isn’t just making it impossible to pursue a coherent agenda; it’s hurting the American people. What’s your preference?

@johnkonrad Careful. Some in Europe may well (in fact, I'd argue it looks increasingly likely) make a deal directly with Tehran (and Moscow) at the expense of the alliance with the US. The energy price spikes/shortages haven't hit properly yet, but when they do, govts will move very fast.

Over the past 24 hours, I’ve talked to a number of leading shipping and energy sources in Europe and Asia. Overall mood: panic. Talked to dozens of key people in the USA. Overall mood: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Allied navies might have to reopen the strait simply because, after getting yelled at for so long, Americans no longer care.

@cdrsalamander If the A-10 is so great, why is the Air Force trying to retire it while only Congress is trying to preserve it? That should tell you something right there. I would think the Air Force knows a lot more than Congress does, don’t you think?

The only thing in real life that that approximates the reaction of infantry in Game of Thrones to an approaching dragon, is that of enemies of the USA when they realize an A-10 Warthog is operating over them. Everyone will miss the Warthog and its capability is lost due to the absolute worst parochial reasons.

@dinosaurs1969 20-odd years ago, I went to register the domain horsec_ck.com, figuring I would just echo your IP and say you had been logged (which would not be true except in the trivial sense). Turns out it was already registered, and oh boy were people getting "logged."

'The facilitator told us there are no bad ideas. Then immediately told me why my first idea "doesn't align with the roadmap."' Been there 30 years ago. Being a woman I was stepping out of my "consensus comfort zone". I learned my lesson to be one of the good silent sheep...mostly.

My company decided we all need to be more "innovative." So they scheduled a 3-hour innovation meeting. Nothing says creativity like fluorescent lights and stale muffins. The facilitator told us there are no bad ideas. Then immediately told me why my first idea "doesn't align with the roadmap." We did an exercise where we put sticky notes on a whiteboard. Apparently if you write the same broken process on 40 different Post-its, it becomes strategy. At the end, leadership said they were "blown away" and would "take this offline." That's corporate for "we're never speaking of this again." We returned to our desks and resumed doing everything exactly the same. Innovation complete. 10x achieved. Please clap.

Warren didn't say she had "Native American heritage." She filled out her 1986 Texas bar registration card by hand writing "American Indian." She claimed she was Cherokee, i.e. a member of Cherokee Nation. She had Fordham Law Review verbatim list her as Harvard Law School's first “woman of color.” She plagiarized various French recipes and claimed they were her Cherokee family's historic foods (crab dip with mayo?) in her Pow Wow Chow cookbook. So your progressive, racist mindset doesn't get to disqualify the ACTUAL American Indian because his skin displeases you.

"Proportionate response" technically means that the force used is proportionate *to the result desired.*. Right tool for the job. In common speech, it has come to mean roughly "tit for tat," which is the source of much leftist sniping. If we set a war aim of destroying an enemy's opportunity, capacity, and will to wage war, then nukes are on the table as proportionate response. If we are just trying to block a route while we do something else, nukes would not be proportionate to that goal. If one of our war aims was to destroy Iran's capacity to wage war with surface vessels, then sinking their fleet in port was utterly proportionate. If we just wanted to get a convoy of tankers through as in Earnest Will, then no.

This will be the last thing I post today because I have better things to do. What confuses me about these generals is their visceral reaction to what most of human history would consider classic strength of purpose. Brute force if you will. Should every leader be like that? Of course not. But what's telling about these generals is their complete and utter revulsion at any other leadership style than their own. They are intolerant. And most know they're intolerant. The ones that look past it are those who've conformed to their way of thinking. What befuddles me is their absolute denial of the fact that millions of people respond well to the type of leadership they revile in Hegseth. They can't explain it because it doesn't fit nicely in their "MOPS/MOES" worldview. It is intangible. I'm just tired of these weak takes. I'm tired of these generals who go out of their way to appear "measured". They are the living embodiment of the 'proportional response'. They are self styled masters of limited war. That's why they scoff at terms like "unconditional surrender". Because they have never and will never be equipped to prosecute the type of war necessary to achieve it. No. They just refer to those of us furious after GWOT, growing up in the shadow of their inadequacy, as "potential war criminals" because we finally get to shoot back. Look, I'm not trying to be as mean as these bitter generals. I'm not. But I'm just so sick and tired of being lectured at about what war means from people who couldn't be bothered to win one. They couldn't win then. They can't win now. And they will try to take down anyone they can at some final shot at relevance. Because maybe if they can get that one last verbal jab in, they'll finally get that little victory that eluded them on the field of battle. This cohort of officer must be removed from the service almost entirely. Notice I said "almost". Because even I see the value in the occasional corporate GOFO. But if this department is to change for the long term, it must shed most of this archetype going forward. They should be the exception, not the rule. I will not be convinced otherwise.

SCOOP: CIA source tells me the CIA has hard evidence that Turkey, and more specifically the Erdogan @RTErdogan administration, has specifically directed spending for podcasters to undermine the Trump administration’s Middle East agenda. The CIA has evidence of this Turkish funding going to at least one female podcaster and at least one male podcaster. Turkey is the largest financier of the Muslim Brotherhood.
