She stated that the Baloch Yakjehti Committee is spearheading an organized movement against the ongoing oppression, and that this resistance is something the state cannot tolerate. The state aims to continue its actions without accountability or questioning. She further stated that to weaken BYC, different methods are being used, including forcing people to hold press conferences against the organization. She highlighted that those being targeted are often individuals whose loved ones have been missing for years, as well as supporters, sympathizers, and even those with no direct connection to BYC. Sammi Deen emphasized that BYC is not a small group but a national movement that represents the voice of the Baloch people. She pointed out that this is why its leadership is currently imprisoned and facing hardships. She added that people are being pressured and blackmailed into making statements to support the state narrative, warning that if such pressure is accepted, it will continue in the future. She stressed that people are being targeted because of their identity and questioned whether surrendering that identity under pressure is acceptable. In conclusion, she stated that speaking against BYC under pressure is not a solution, and urged people to resist such tactics. She called on the public to recognize BYC as a national movement and stand firm against attempts to weaken it.

Baloch Voice for Justice strongly condemns the enforced disappearance of Qadeer Majeed, a 24 year old farmer from Kocha Greshag Naal, Khuzdar. He was taken on 30 July 2025 at 6:00 AM from Badrang Greshag, reportedly by CTD personnel. His whereabouts remain unknown, placing his life at serious risk and causing ongoing distress to his family. We call on state authorities to immediately disclose his location and ensure his safe release. We urge human rights organizations, media, and concerned individuals to raise this case and demand accountability. Silence enables abuse. Monthly Human Rights Report on Balochistan: 65 Enforced Disappearances and 50 Killings Recorded in March 2026 During March 2026, at least 65 cases of enforced disappearances were documented across Balochistan, including 64 men and 1 woman. House raids remained the primary method, accounting for 50 cases. The FC was linked to 35 cases, intelligence agencies to 19, CTD to 7, death squads to 3, and Rangers to 1. Students were the most affected group, with 25 cases recorded, while nine minors were also among those abducted. Only 16 individuals were later released, while the majority remain disappeared. Alongside these disappearances, 50 killings were reported during the same period. These included 25 targeted killings and 14 custodial killings of previously disappeared persons. Other reported violence included mortar attacks and shootings by security forces in 6 cases, along with 5 body recoveries. The FC and state-backed death squads were identified as the main perpetrators in majority of these incidents. The month also witnessed a wider pattern of repression and disruption to civilian life. Police blocked a press conference by families of detained Baloch Yakjehti Committee leaders in Quetta, while curfew measures in Zehri disrupted daily life. Multiple night raids, property destruction, and harassment were reported in Turbat, Surab, and Gwadar. Additional incidents included the destruction of fuel stock in Gwadar during Ramadan, a military operation in Laghar, Surab, a woman previously taken into custody being presented as a “suicide bomber,” a journalist booked under terrorism charges in Quetta, 12 individuals declared proclaimed offenders by the ATC Quetta, and Seema Baloch being placed on the Fourth Schedule in Hub. Advocate Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali have now spent 100 days in prison. They were punished after raising their voices for victims of injustice and enforced disappearances. This case raises a serious question. Is standing with the oppressed a crime. Is speaking for fundamental rights a crime. Their continued detention for speaking the truth and demanding lawful protections reflects a grave injustice. Both are legal professionals who have consistently defended families of the forcibly disappeared and other vulnerable communities. Their work reflects a clear commitment to justice, accountability, and dignity. Their imprisonment signals a shrinking space for dissent and creates fear among those who pursue justice through lawful means. Their continued detention conflicts with Pakistan’s obligations under international law. The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights guarantees freedom of expression, fair trial rights, and protection from arbitrary detention under Articles 9, 14, and 19. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirms these protections under Articles 9 and 19. The UN Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers require that lawyers perform their duties without intimidation or interference. These obligations demand immediate compliance. Immediate suspension of their sentences is required. Immediate release must follow. We Thank the UN Committee Against Torture for Highlighting Ongoing Rights Violations The UN Committee against Torture (CAT) raises concerns about the detention of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, along with former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Idris Khattak, and Ali Wazir. The Committee also expressed concern over the denial of medical care to detained rights activists and political figures. The UN Committee against Torture (CAT) on May 1st issued its findings on Pakistan after reviewing the States Parties in its latest session. The Committee’s findings confirmed what we have long said: arbitrary detention, reprisals, and abuse against dissenting voices must end. The Committee further highlighted reports of torture, enforced disappearances, and retaliation against human rights defenders, journalists, and critics of the government.
