With Baseball being a long long season, it's misunderstood by a lot of people that this is basically your family for 6 months. If you guys aren't vibing, helping each other improve and motivating each other it can translate to bad play. It sounds silly but players tend to do much better when they're having fun and don't feel pressure. It's a fickle sport

PLEASE just sell the pieces you have and retool the org. Buying a RH bat is going to solve nothing. Youre not even just ONE bat away. You are multiple bats away. If Craig Breslow wants to keep his job he needs to do the smart thing and sell the pieces that need to be sold.

@BostonTBA @GMagz_420 Don’t mistake of not being very productive at the plate with no fire. Hard to be enthusiastic when you’re consistently hitting into 6-4-3 DP. It isn’t chemistry.

A lot of the problem seems to be chemistry as well. Last year on paper we weren't much better let's be honest but that team loved eachother especially once Devers was out and they had fun every night. This team seems like they don't even want to play together and sound like robots during interviews most nights. This team has a great pitching core, a great bullpen core and a decent offensive core. They can't seem to fire on all cylinders at once, the bad players are dragging them down and there is no fire or chemistry

@BostonStrong_34 He’s not allowed to be used much. At least his arm is being saved for his next team.

I just know that I’m going to miss seeing Aroldis Chapman in a Red Sox uniform.

@Bamabosox @BallParkBuzz That’s the only way you’re getting power under the age of 28, which is what this org needs to focus given it lacks star power in true prime. All those guys listed are 25 or younger except for Crochett who is 27. Right now the most important thing is player development

How I view the core of this Red Sox team moving forward: Position Players: Anthony, Mayer, Abreu Pitchers: Crochet, Early, Tolle Everyone else I would at least entertain in trade conversations.

@gingersnaphyde @tylermilliken_ It’s the front offices fault for not letting these young guys fully develop before throwing them in the fire. They have built this team around too many young guys rather than letting them fully develop in the minors and it’s why they are in the position they are in.

@BallParkBuzz I’d move Abreu to expendable if it allows you to acquire a top prospect or young MLB RHH at 3B, 1B or RF. He doesn’t have an extension and he’s streaky. This isn’t a sell off as it is a rebalancing for need. I’d add Arias and Rafaela, too.

Last year, Marcelo Mayer saw offspeed pitches 17.3% of the time. He hit .125 against them with a .292 SLG. 42.6% Whiff%. So far in 2026, he’s seeing them 27.9% of the time. He’s batting .057 against them with an .086 SLG. 41.1% Whiff%.

@TomFornelli The Red Sox won that trade. Got rid of a terrible contract and got Kyle Harrison who is having a great year. They didn’t lose that trade.

Nobody has ever lost a trade as badly as the Boston Red Sox have lost the Rafael Devers trade.

@MattMcCarthy985 I can see Mayer and Anthony having trajectories where it takes a full year of consistent at bats to unlock the slugging. PCA hit .237 with 10 HRs and 13 doubles in 2024 and .247 with 31 HRs and 37 doubles in 2025. A year of playing every day can make a huge difference.

Breslow should be fired immediately for what he’s done to this lineup over the last year, but the problems are much scarier than that. The 5 year plan implemented in 2020 is failing. This core is not good enough. Anthony: hasn’t stayed healthy Mayer: significant questions about whether he can hit. Also has injury concerns. Rafaela: can’t hit consistently. Duran: hasn’t hit since 2024. May never hit again. Casas: hurt. Has barely hit. Campbell: can’t even hit in Worcester. There’s a real chance this group will never succeed.

I’m looking at a random grouping of starting pitchers. Chris Sale, Eduardo Rodriguez, Kyle Harrison, Michael Wacha, and Nathan Eovaldi have combined for a 2.74 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP in 39 starts this year, averaging six innings per start. #random

@HouckssBurner All of them. Ohtani would be fair return from dodgers. Soto from Mets and could probably get miller and judge in a three way with Padres and Yankees.
