A beautiful 18-year-old student named Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed in Chicago last week while she was walking in a park with friends. The suspect in custody for her murder is a Venezuelan criminal illegal alien who was caught and released at the border by the Biden administration in May 2023. According to DHS, this monster was released again from local custody after a shoplifting arrest in the sanctuary city of Chicago in June 2023. Another innocent American citizen had her life stolen from her because Democrats embrace reckless sanctuary city policies and open borders. How many more Americans have to die before Democrats end this madness? President Trump continues to call on radical Democrat leaders in sanctuary cities and states, like JB Pritzker, to cooperate with ICE and stop releasing illegal alien criminals into American neighborhoods.

The only people who put politics over self-defense are extremists. The only people who hate someone universally for their politics rather than the situations they are in are extremists. Both sides have extremists, as seen in the replies. Anyone who thinks MAGA or liberals should hate someone simply for their politics is likely one of them. The average person sees a crazy man step in front of a motorcycle, and extremely dangerous thing to do, and is upset at that madman for potentially causing an accident. Doing so when the motorcycle is going fast enough, with an unskilled rider, could lead to injury or death from both the rider and the person blocking them. You don't have to agree with someone's politics to agree that this was stupid. And reasonable people side with the person who was minding his own business, not the person causing an issue.

I would not have others infantilize me and pay for my existence day in and day out. I have independence and self-reliance. So this stance perfectly aligns with the golden rule. Most self reliant people would accept a hand up if they truly need it and couldn't manage otherwise. That's fair. However long term subsidization of adult lives treats people like perpetual children, which violates the spirit of mutual respect for autonomy. That's a hand out, not a hand up. Asking for help is one thing. Expecting help is entitlement and damaging in more ways than one.

You would be surprised if I gave you the names of some of the people who liked this post. White people are finally over SUlCIDAL EMPATHY and ready to save our civilization.

Empathy is rarely the solution. It eschews logic in favor of feelings. We can all feel pain seeing someone suffer, but that is the end of where empathy should go. It should not be used to base policies on "solving" the problems we see. Locally, in our own countries and states, empathy is a weapon used to take advantage of others. While that isn't always the case, the core belief is that people have autonomy, individual responsibility, and agency over their own lives. Short-term assistance based on empathy is good, but what we often see is long-term dependency rather than short-term assistance. At some point we need to ween people off the teat of the Government and force them to provide for themselves, or rely on families, friends, and communities for assistance. Adults should be treated as such. Same applies to foreign countries that rely on dependency from the US for aid, food, medicine, etc. Those people have their own leaders, their own Governments, and their own autonomy. If the current leaders fail to solve the problems, replace the leaders until they do. If their leaders are violent dictators, maybe empathy can lead to assistance in overthrowing them, but again that is basically where it should end. There is a fair argument to not even go that far. Failed nations happen everywhere. We cannot save them all. We might fail ourselves, and NO ONE is coming to save us in that case. Again, I don't mind short-term assistance for crises and temporary relief during tragic events, but long-term dependency needs to be cut off completely. Your success should not hinge on the charity of others and use our empathy to continue receiving it.

Even if we accept this generous estimate as fact, the US would not even contemplate military action over 1-2 years worth from a mature declining basin. Especially since we wouldn't be able to make claims to it, it is still the UK's ownership. At best we could make deals to buy it cheap, but that definitely isn't worth it. In the past, we haven't really gotten involved unless there was over 100B barrels worth on the line, and we would still want to control it after liberation. Venezuela is a good example with an estimate of 300B barrels worth. Logistics are also important, with the North Sea being susceptible to transit route disruption from adversaries. So no, that number doesn't change anything.
