@gordongkennedy I remember you/Bodgers performing a sketch at school, maybe 1980ish. Don't know why I remember this random fact, but I'm sure it was in the music school not the hall. 🤔

@realMaalouf Halal slaughter would be fine if it included stunning, as it already does in some abattoirs. There is no reason not to, as the animal is not killed by the stun. Its heart beats until bled out. That's not too much to ask, surely?

Muslim council of Britain: “Banning halal slaughter would mean Muslims would leave Britain.” Should halal slaughter be banned in the UK?

@1goodtern With a quinsy and early signs of sepsis, unable to swallow my own saliva (dribbling into a tissue!) mouth hardly opening, couldn't speak, in agony - my former GP said 'go home and suck ice cubes, take paracetamol' - ignored her, went to A&E later, straight onto IV antibiotics!

Hi @asda - Express/Uber order refund request rejected just now. Never seen such a collection of poor substitutions, no option to hand back with Express. One jar of Salsa apparently = a kit with 12 taco shells, seasoning and sauce (?) and many others. Not happy. Help please! 😕

Back from a trip & immediately spotted the tell tale signs of a gathering! In SIX WORDS OR SO sum up the giveaway signs after YOUR teen parties, recent shindigs & legendary rave ups. Maybe damage, sofa stain, scattered records, takeaway packaging or missing booze? Tell all!

@elspells13 I know I'm going to have a similarly weird day at some point (not divorced yet, but he's moving quickly...!) so I'll be remembering your almond croissant and hoping for a nice 'me' day too. Enjoy! ☕🥐

Bit of a weird one as apparently the ex is getting married today, so I'm treating myself to a day of working in cafes & visiting bookshops. Look at the size of that almond croissant...

@helainaideas @nate_postlethwt Exactly this! I thought everyone's mother was like mine when alone with their kids (violent, vindictive, neglectful). I thought they all had an 'in public' personality as mine did...amazed when I found out as a teenager my situation wasn't 'normal'.

@nate_postlethwt I didn't even think there was anything wrong, so despite the feeling that I was always walking on eggshells, I didn't think it was relevant enough to tell anyone or ask for help. I didn't even know I needed help...

Kids can’t name abuse in homes where it’s the norm. Stop this bullshit about “why didn’t you tell someone” when all they’ve ever known is they don’t have the right to ask for help and if they do they’ll pay a further price.

@Sarahgozzo You’re never really on your own at a gig. The shared love for the band unites strangers. I love it because I can get completely lost in the music.

Done a scary and gone to a gig on my own and you know what? It's GREAT. Apart from the in between set bits, which are you know, a bit weird. Hence this tweet. Solo gig goers - and I know there are loads of you - why do you love it?

@Sarahgozzo Been doing this recently and haven't missed having anyone with me. It's great not having to worry about whether the other person is enjoying it, wants a drink, etc. 🙂 🎶

@GrantStottOnAir Conjours up several long-forgotten teenage memories, Edinburgh, 1979-1983 years in particular! I remember being very sick all over one poor boy at a party in Greenbank. Much more embarrassed about that now, than back then. 🤮 😳

A “bag off” was a no strings attached, limited edition, one night only, snog fest. Which meant you and your chosen partner could have a night of unswaying passion and necking - then the next day - you both carry on as if nothing happened. Straight back to your single life.

@theJeremyVine If he knew anything about H&S (he doesn't appear to!) he'd understand that while he might legally be allowed to fly a sub-250g drone where he does, he could still endanger people through distraction, loss of control, etc, or damage property. He doesn't care. He's a nuisance.

@theonlywayisup Clear fluids (weak squash, water, etc, not fizzy) or rehydration sachets only, then when no more vomiting, toast or ryvita with jam/marmalade, no spread - no fats at all for several days. Usually works. If v bad, seek medical advice. (Ex-nurse)

@cjrmurphy1 Yes! I'm 58 and went to see The 1975 on my own recently - one of the best gigs I've ever been to (out of many, all genres, over the past 45 years or so) and didn't feel odd at all. I can get quite anxious sometimes but was fine with it, as could do my own thing. Just do it! 😁🎶

So I’ve been so reluctant to ask for opinions on this bc I really don’t want the negativity but here it goes: I’m 64 years old and I want to go see Taylor swift concert ! My husband is ok with me going but I think my kids think it’s creepy 😩. Should I just go???
