@BTYoung @Geiger_Capital Continuing to move a deadline forward is not deal making prowess, it's a sign of an unwillingness to walk away, which means leverage is not on one's side.

@JesseKellyDC And the numbers should get much lower. Sending more Americans to die in the Middle East was a redline for many Trump supporters, myself included. Instead of peace and prosperity, we get more war, more death and more inflation. Dammit Donald, WTF are you doing ?!

November is a long way away, but if these numbers hold, we are going to get massacred in the midterms. That’s just reality. And when we do, not a single “94% of MAGA is still with us!” commentator will come to you and say they’re sorry.

@onechancefreedm @LukeGromen Option 2, wars are inflationary and require more government spending. Moreover, if a recession occurs, the long end could fall briefly but then the collapse in tax receipts means more issuance, keeping the long end from falling further in a normal recession environment.

@LukeGromen Do you think the long end eventually catches the real bid here and becomes the mechanism that drags yields lower? Or do you think the inflation risk premium and sovereign supply overhang keep the long end from fully rallying even if the economy starts to crack?

If Hormuz stays closed another 3-4 weeks, it all begins to crumble...into an already-teetering global sovereign debt problem & consumer credit problem. Based on what I'm hearing, it is highly likely Hormuz will remain closed for at least another 3-4 weeks. Let's watch.

@LeftismForU @DicksonDan75217 Attacking Iran after the nuclear capacity was "completely obliterated" was a dumb move. Our fellow Americans have been killed in a war that was no threat to the homeland. C'mon, we are spending blood and treasure in a war for Israel's interest, not ours!

@realDonaldTrump We should not sit and wait for the next attack, wipe Iran's ballistic capability out and get our troops out of Iraq - they are only targets now. No US WIA/KIA is a tribute to the professionalism of our military and intel professionals not Iranian restraint.

In conversations with clients and friends (also in reading X takes), it seems like folks underestimate how painful it is to withstand unrelenting, unfettered, strategic and punitive attacks from the air by the US. Iran surely has a high pain tolerance, but it is not infinite.

@zerohedge A partial closure hurts our allies far more than it hurts us. “You break it you buy it” is a fair rebuttal to this ask, but none the less, in an age of renewed real politic they’d be wise to support.

I repeat. I’m not a MAGA, but he’s right. The media coverage has been abysmal. I turn on the news to find factual information about what is going on with the war and all I get is spin. Is it just me noticing this? More than ever I feel like the mainstream media is gone mad.
War Correspondent@warDaniel47

🚨BREAKING: SecDef Pete Hegseth stares right at the press and goes scorched earth, spelling out their insanity. I could watch this all day. "You, and I mean specifically YOU, the press, you cheer against Trump so hard, it's in your DNA and in your blood to cheer against Trump, because you want him not to be successful so bad, you have to cheer against the efficacy of these strikes. You have to hope maybe they weren't effective." "Maybe the way the Trump administration is representative isn't true. So let's take half truths, spun information, leaked information, and then spin it, spin it in every way we can to try to cause doubt and manipulate the mind, the public mind, over whether or not our brave pilots were successful." "How many stories have been written about how hard it is to, I don't know, fly a plane for 36 hours? Has MSNBC done that story? Has Fox? Have we done the story how hard that is?" "There are so many aspects of what our brave men and women did that because of the hatred of this press corps are undermined because people are trying to leak and spin that it wasn't successful. It's irresponsible." "You're undermining the success of incredible B-2 pilots and incredible F-35 pilots and incredible refuelers and incredible air defenders who accomplished their mission." "How about we talk about how special America is, that only we have these capabilities? I think it's too much to ask, unfortunately, for the fake news. So we're used to that." Do you firmly support Pete Hegseth on this? A. Huge Yes B. No IF Yes, Give me a THUMBS-UP👍! MAKE THIS GO VIRAL ON 𝕏. LET’S GO 👏

@MonetaryWonk To your question of why did news become so biased, my theory is due to the copious amounts now available via the Internet. To win viewers, news had to become more partisan. I don't watch any TV news but get all mine online. Are you placing any trades around the war?

Fair point. I actually have zero issue with criticism. That’s healthy. But the coverage is ridiculous. Even when CNN is running factual stories, it’s all about how many ppl died, or that Congress was left out, etc… Fox is the opposite all pro war. I can barely find any actual news on how the war is going without spin. When did all news just become opinion based? That’s why I’m so frustrated.
