I am horrified and angered by the swastikas painted on homes and a synagogue in Forest Hills, including on a plaque honoring survivors of Kristallnacht. This is not just vandalism — it is a deliberate act of antisemitic hatred meant to instill fear.

There is no place for antisemitism in Queens or anywhere in our city. I stand in solidarity with our Jewish neighbors. Their safety, dignity, and belonging are non-negotiable.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating and I am confident those responsible will be held accountable.

The blockade of Hormuz is a brilliant move. It deprives Iran of a major source of revenue and the only remaining card it had left to play after the U.S. destroyed its navy and took out much of its ballistic missiles. It also reveals what this is all about for Trump: The President will stop at nothing short of restoring America as the world’s only superpower, thanks to our energy dominance.

Mahmoud Khalil spoke at an “As a Jew” outdoor Seder today. He instructed the crowd to pray that Israel is no longer in existence next year. Khalil also ordered that the city divest from Israel and said @MarkLevineNYC is wrong to say that Israeli bonds are good investments. Khalil concluded that Israeli is a war economy and nothing more than this. Recall that this is who @ZohranKMamdani @NYCMayor welcomed into their house at Gracie Mansion for dinner last month. Khalil graduated from @ColumbiaSIPA where he gained a platform and graduated to bigger and better things just like @NerdeenKiswani did. Like we have been saying, the universities’ Jew hate issues are everyone’s problem. @potus @EdWorkforceCmte

Along w about 25 other people, including 6 rabbis, blocked the lobby of Palentir, the AI corporation whose surveillance technology enables ICE's cruel searching for & kidnapping our immigrant neighbors. 15 of us were arrested, but the last 9 -- they were too much for the NYPD!

Today, the Council passed my legislation to protect safe access to houses of worship while fully upholding the sacrosanct rights to free speech and protest. This bill requires the NYPD to publish their plans, strengthens transparency and accountability, and ensures communities are part of the process. We also advanced a broader package to improve safety at schools and houses of worship, combat harassment, educate students on online hate, and expand support for student loan borrowers. Thank you to my Council colleagues for prioritizing this important work.
