@dizneluver @SheldrickTrust No, he'll soon be relocated to the Sonoran desert.

One week with Bumpy! Like any baby, he sleeps deeply and often – especially snuggled up to his Keeper, with a tummy full of milk.
Bumpy was rescued just last weekend, after the Kenya Wildlife Service received reports of a deceased female hippo with an orphan left behind. She appears to have died in a territorial fight, likely defending her baby’s life. Bumpy had stayed huddled beside his mother’s body for at least a day.
Now, Bumpy has a family with us and a wild future ahead. He’ll never be alone again – Keepers like Joseph, pictured here, are with him around the clock, loving him and attending to his every need. As you can see, he is lapping it up!

@patriottakes It's a lectern. A podium is a raised platform ( pod = feet). He might well be standing on a podium, but he's speaking at a lectern.

@Johnpoppersfas2 @KyleClark What kind of dog is yours? I recently adopted mine from a shelter, and he looks a lot like that. He's sort of greyhound....and a bunch of other stuff. Runs like the wind, smart and kinda sassy. I'll get a DNA for him one of these days.

While each of us has different views on the particulars, we believe that Harris’s economic agenda will improve our nation’s health, investment, sustainability, resilience, employment opportunities, and fairness and be vastly superior to the counterproductive economic agenda of Donald Trump. @Phil_Mattingly wrote about our letter for @CNN cnn.com/2024/10/23/pol…

This is not ancient history... Ruby Bridges is only 70. The courage it must have taken her, to walk into all that hate. We're lucky to be able to learn about her historical and personal perspective on this moment on American history.

Wishing a happy 70th birthday to Ruby Bridges, the first Black student to integrate an all-white elementary school in the south. Today, let’s honor her legacy of progress and the path she bravely paved for future generations of Americans.

@HerbertHistory Ok, last one, I promise. Spendy, but the Royal Gorge RR is awesome, and you can do a no meal one that's ( slightly) cheaper. ( Mt Princeton Hot Springs is AMAZING, but probably too far of a drive for a day trip).

@HerbertHistory When you've got that all done, go to the Broadmoor. It's fun to walk through, and they do a nice job of presenting the ( very interesting) history of it. Then, choose a restaurant there and have lunch. It's cheaper than dinner but still atmospheric.

@HerbertHistory Have one day in Colorado Springs. Garden of the God's is free and has shorter hikes if that's not her favorite thing to do. It's easy to be graceful about that by noting the much higher altitude. Go sort of early in the morning for heat avoidance. Visitor Center is also good.

@HerbertHistory No other airport has Blucifer. It's the best. Plus, it's so dang awesome to have a window seat and track geography/Geology with the app Flyover Country. Best scenery ever.

If I could chose something to be recognized for doing well, teaching would be high on my list. Receiving this award is an incredible honor, and I'm grateful to the Ellbogen Foundation as well as my amazing students and colleagues for making it happen. uwyo.edu/news/2024/05/u…
