My most centrist opinion is that I don't think billionaires should die in horrifying implosions but I do think they should debase themselves by willingly fighting in cage matches.

re: (2) — Khanna was *obviously* a parachute candidate. Given that, and the CPC's own history of dogwhistles, the whole complaint just falls flat. Who is this messaging even for?

re: (1) — Most people in the further southwestern reaches of Ontario just lump all of the GTA in as "Toronto" — there's not widespread recognition of the idiosyncrasies of the various neighbourhoods and suburban cities.

My hot take: In the GTA, "he's from Brampton" *would* be a dogwhistle, and the Liberal campaign *may* have even intended it that way. But (1) that dogwhistle wouldn't get heard in SWO, and (2) it *is* fair game to criticize parachute candidates. cbc.ca/news/politics/…
