Douglas Murray thinks if Israel were not to exist that Western civilisation would collapse and America as a nation would not survive. I’m really not sure he wants us to make a link between the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 and the fortunes of the West ever since.

My 23-year-old daughter was working a late shift at the grocery store last week when she texted me on her break, a little uneasy. She went back to her register, and a few minutes later her coworker Miguel came and quietly stood at the end of her lane. He didn’t say anything, didn’t make a scene—he just stayed there. Then her supervisor, Deb, came over and said she needed help in the back. There wasn’t anything back there that needed help—but they both knew exactly why she was being pulled away. When my daughter came back out, the man was gone. She called me on her way home and told me what happened. It wasn’t until she was driving that it really hit her—Miguel had noticed. He told Deb. Deb got her out of sight. Other coworkers kept an eye on the man until he left. No panic, no embarrassment, no making her feel like she had done anything wrong. They just handled it. Quietly. Together. I sat in my driveway and cried. Because yes, I’ve raised her to be aware and trust her instincts—and she did. But what got her safely to her car that night wasn’t just her awareness. It was people who were paying attention. People who cared enough to step in. I think about all the times I’ve worried about her working late. All the “text me when you get home” messages. All the quiet prayers I say. And then I think about Miguel, just standing there, saying nothing—but being everything she needed in that moment. I don’t think I have the words for what that means to a mother. She’s back at work now—same store, same late shifts. I still say my prayers. But now I also know she’s not alone in that building. She’s surrounded by people who notice, who care, and who act. I reached out to the store manager the next day to tell him what his team did. He said he wasn’t surprised—that’s just who they are. And honestly, that made me cry all over again. We hear so much about what’s wrong in the world. And yes, there’s plenty. But there are also people like Miguel, Deb, and that entire closing crew—people who look out for others like they’re their own. Douglas Murray is a fraud and an ignorant fool. His fancy posh accent has allowed him to pass off as an expert on geopolitics, Islam, war and peace, and other sundry matters. I just saw an interview with the BBC, involving him, in which he described Muammar Gaddafi as a jihadist. Gaddafi was a sworn enemy of jihadism and all its works. His lodestar was the Arab nationalism and socialism of Nasser. If Murray doesn't even know this, what else doesn't he know?

American citizens are furious at the San Diego City Council, which has passed a resolution defining antisemitism based on the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition to identify hate speech crimes. Absolute bombshell on Al Jazeera. The Israeli military intentionally destroyed all the security cameras at the UN Peacekeeper headquarters in Lebanon. They are literally blinding the United Nations so they can commit massive war crimes with zero accountability.

@BaringaGort @jhabeeb1 The reality is exactly what I've told you. An overrated mentally weak bully who always folded when faced against real opposition that were confident and fought back. He was a quitter. He was never in the same class as the true greats of the heavyweight division.

As physically gifted as Mike Tyson was, him being listed at 5'10 with a 71 inch reach, when he was really closer to 5'9, meant his size was always going to be a problem. People call Usyk a small heavyweight at 6'3" with a 78 inch reach, but he's actually average size for a heavyweight, whereas Tyson was greatly undersized for the division. This size difference was always going to be a problem for Tyson once his opposition got better.

People will wax poetic about life and death and its virtues and vices. Infinite spectrum of opinions. A universal agreement remains: they don't want to die right now.
