@TrevorHockins If he wanted to ease the housing crisis he would cut the 1.1M added to the pop over the year to Feb 2026. Oz has not had a replacement birthrate since the 1980's, Any lack of housing is a policy decision. So what is the incentive to keep it at unsustainable levels?

@BaronBurleigh2 The issue with rental vacancies is unsustainable immigration. Low vacancies give leverage to landlords to raise rents. Set sustainable immigration levels so landlords don't have so much leverage.

These idiots in ALP just don't get the consequences of their actions. Remove negative gearing removes Ma and Pa investors from rental housing, adds 250,000 properties to the sales market, removes 300.000+ properties from rentals and pushes rents through the roof.

How does it feel to have a Prime Minister that as no idea how bad things really are? You can't fix what you don't want to see, and he clearly doesn't want to see it.

@AmeliaBee7 I struggle with reconciling sovereign citizen type status for first nations. Then when they behave contrary to the society that is funding them it is our fathers and sons fault for their choices. I appreciate people are born into there circumstances, but where is the line?

We’re having huge problems as a country yet our investment in research as a % of GDP is at a record low. We have to turn this around and invest in CSIRO and science more broadly in 🇦🇺. region.com.au/give-csiro-sta…

@angelar68197975 My issues with the voice where: how much do we spend at the moment? What works and doesn't work? Why do we need another layer of gov for that? How was the voice going to address any of that? It was never articulate. Instead it was strawmanned down to white privilege & racism.

Liberals already seizing on death of little Aboriginal child and politicising it calling for Royal Commission. Typical. For ten years they did nothing to help First Nations people ..And voted against giving them a voice in parliament

@SamKSS It certainly feels like planting the seed so our response is conditioned for what comes next. Strawmanning the issue down to, you must be un Australian and not wanting ppl to have a fare go if you don't support this change.

@DrCraigEmerson Immigrates are not the issue. Unsustainable immigration is. It isn't a zero sum issue. But the uniparty ignore it for there convenience. Strawmanning it down to, ignore your reality, you must be racists. We are not adding the infrastructure and services as well, adding pressure.

One Nation is hostile to immigration. Tell that to the people of Griffith and Leeton who rely on immigrants. They celebrate each other’s special days together. Multiculturalism at its best.

@AlboMP Your policies have only added to inflation and ppls problems. Inflation is not a force of nature, it happens when gov add to the base money ledger by creating debt for promises we can not afford. Inflation debases your buying power, stealing your wealth and future. It isn't free.

@Peter_Fitz Subsidies just transferring wealth from those that cannot afford a house, let alone a house with solar to those that can. There is no incentive for landlords to install solar and batteries, two more things to maintain. Under the bus savers and renters.

The amusing thing will be the hold-out trolls, REFUSING to get solar panels and batteries, even while friends and neighbours have bills falling to net zero, and they are filling their tanks with sunshine. They'll be the new age anti-vaxxers, tragically carrying on YEARS later!
💧Peter Kemp 💉@peterhkemp.bsky.social@peterkemplawyer

@Peter_Fitz Those of us in the rooftop solar industry knew all about this, we've been contradicting naysayers for a long time, our favorites were 'Oh renewables will never be more than 10% of the grid' then 20 then 30 etc Attack the SA grid? We are prepared 😂

@honmattkean @TheAustralian The current trajectory moves the reliance to China. We are happy to send our coal to them, in return we give them our wealth for renewable tech and become reliant on them two fold. We need to control our own destiny. Drilling holes is part of that.

🇦🇺 Australia’s energy security won’t be solved by drilling more holes. It’ll be solved by needing less of the stuff in the first place. 🌏 Our destination hasn’t changed — but excuses for delay get less and less credible. Check out my comments in @theaustralian today. #CAE2026

@davmacjoh @nickofnz You can have push and pull innovation. I get it, some times you need to pull innovation along to get an outcome you need. But incentives warp the narrative. I think nuclear is the casing point on this. When raised vested wind/solar/pump hydro faces turn up on the TV.

@BarneyBuffet @nickofnz Tech rarely stands in its own, companies regularly get rebates, funding from government, especially if it is in the national interest. E.g. free public transport in Luxembourg saves more in imported fuel and expensive congestion.

A surge in home battery installations continues to defy all expectations in Aussie, reaching more than 360,000 homes in the 10 months since a government rebate was launched. Something we could be seeing too if we had some leadership with any vision. #EnergyRevolution

@StuddertNatalie @AlboMP It's time for the gov to stop creating debt, which causes inflation. Inflation is not a natural force, it is created by government. Ppl are struggling because the money they have earned is worth less everyday because of inflation. Gov needs to spend within its means.

@lesstenny Ppl are tired of the uni party straw manning down their reality to unity through obedience. ON seems to be the only party willing to talk about the elephant in the room. Immigration is not a zero sum issue. But we are told not to question it, else be called racists right wing.

@BilsonhBilson We have inflation because the gov keeps spending outside our means. Adding debt (money) to the AUD to pay for it. Cut the payroll, restructure the NDIS to be within our means and make energy super cheap cheap. Cut immigration to sustainable levels.

@TheKouk Stop blaming the RBA. We have stagflation because the gov keeps spending money (debt) we don't have into an inflationary env. Meaning we need to raise rates while the non gov economy is struggling. This is all on the gov. I cannot help but question your incentives.

"Non, rien de rien Non, je ne regrette rien Ni le bien, qu'on m'a fait Ni le mal, tout ça m'est bien égal Non, rien de rien Non, je ne regrette rien" Edith Piaf The path of least regret for the RBA is to hold rates: But that doesn't mean it won't hike - Yikes. Here's a scenario that would be very uncomfortable for the RBA. It hikes rates next week to 4.35% meaning extremely restrictive monetary policy framework that will poleaxe the economy. In the mean time, there is some form of resolution to the Middle East war & the oil price settles at US$65 to US$75. A week after the RBA hike Treasurer Jim Chalmers delivers a budget that confirms a cut in real government spending & a tightening in fiscal policy. youtube.com/watch?v=gKSiE9…

@KellyAlspals Immigration is not a zero sum issue. But it is being straw manned down to one for convenience. We have grown the pop by 4x ACT in the last 5 years. We have not grown the hospitals, schools, water, sewer etc by that. It is unsustainable. There is balance, where we are is not it.

Australia is so lucky to have so many immigrants . We love them in our Murray River districts like The Sunraysia and the Riverland. Thank you Immigrants. You are the best ever asset that has come so freely to help us.
