Below are the funeral details of Pte Donald Rose 110yr old WW2 oldest veteran, the oldest man in the UK and fifth oldest WW2 veteran in the world. We are asking support from the public and Armed Forces community to help give Donald a dignified send off. 🕯️ Friday 8th August 2025 Due to his popularity Donald will be driving through parts of Ilkeston town so residents can line the streets to say goodbye. 11:45am - Morrisons Supermarket, 107 Nottingham Road, Ilkeston, DE7 5NN Bikers are requested to muster at 11:30am to escort his journey. 12:00 - Service held at Ilkeston Football Ground, Awsworth Road, Ilkeston, DE7 8JF with a bikers escort from Morrisons. 12:45 - Leave to meet the parade at the bottom of Bath Street. Anyone wishing to walk or march up bath street are very welcome to join the parade at any stage. 13:00 - Standards to join the parade outside the old Argos on bath street. Military/veterans/public to line up by the cenotaph to salute Donald as he passes by on his final journey. Berets and medals to be worn.
