This is an excellent post. I don’t claim to be an expert on the early Church Fathers. If this accurately reflects their views, it certainly challenges the claim that they believed the Church was the new Israel and that God had no intention of restoring the physical nation.

I think you’re conflating two totally different concepts and hyper-simplifying what this mass surveillance infrastructure is capable of. You and your cameraman doing street interviews is NOT comparable to a network of infinite cameras placed all over America indexing your behavior 24/7 that is directly or indirectly accessible to law enforcement at all times. Think of what this technology could’ve been used to enforce during COVID.
