@zacharyebell Massive pork butt on sale at store. Wouldn't fit in my smaller crockpot. Bought a bigger one, 8qt, digital, auto warm, ended up making pulled pork sandwiches. Had to freeze 1/3 of the pulled pork. Even with the one time investment of the crockpot it was cheaper than fast food.

Chicken, rice, potatoes, whatever’s on sale in a crockpot before work and you’ve got food for days.
Poor people used to survive by stretching meals & now everybody’s financing convenience like it’s a personality trait.

This is bc they do not have the time or capacity to create home cooked meals. It’s an issue countless ppl have tried to raise w leftists but big leftists online continue to shame/abuse poor ppl for being forced to rely on these services for meals, which act as a tax on the poor

The most horrifying thing in this article, out of the dozens of nightmarish details, is that some of these men are selling their children to family members. Imagine that your relative needs help and you offer it only on the condition that they sell their children to you as slaves. And then imagine that they actually do it. Totally unthinkable all around. But this is the “culture” in places like Afghanistan. And it’s why we should have realized and accepted a long time ago that some cultures are just evil. Some people are just barbarians. You lock your door and don’t let them inside, ever, period.

The 2009 salary they are frozen at is 174,000 a year.
Double the average American's, well into the lower upper class average, with a single salary. If their spouse works at fuckin McDonald's they pass over 200k.
If that is not livable for them, then they (the people directly responsible for policy) should do something about that 🤷♂️
"I can't be lower upperclass, I need to be well into the upper percentile, otherwise I'm start takin them bribes" is not compelling to most people.

Our friend, @TheRascallion , was so pleased when that beloved big horn sheep decided to take a short leave from @BrownellsInc in Iowa and come have some porch time here in Appalachia! They got to jawin', of course, as big horn sheep and rascally raccoons are want to do, and began waxing about how much fun the old standbys can be. The trusty side by side and the sweet .38 special are hard to beat.
Maybe it was the mellifluous tones of a friend or maybe it was that sweet mountain dew but Rascal figured we would bless y'all a little extra this week and and give TWO of you ne'er-do-wells a shot at winning! Josef Prusa of Prusa Research has raised serious concerns about Bambu Lab’s Bambu Studio slicer software.
The program, a fork of the open-source PrusaSlicer, incorporates a closed-source networking plugin that Prusa describes as an unauditable “black box” downloaded from a CDN and capable of remote replacement.
Prusa says this is dangerous because Chinese laws require companies to help their intelligence agencies and share encryption keys, and slicers handle sensitive 3D design files used in research labs, universities, and defense work.
He also claims that Bambu Lab is breaking the open-source license rules by adding this closed part.

NEW: San Diego woman tanks two shots to the chest and still advances on officers with a ballpoint pen until tased
San Diego Police Department released bodycam footage of the April 15, 2026, officer-involved shooting in the East Village near 16th Street and Island Avenue.
32-year-old Denise Guzman was allegedly stabbing a man multiple times with a ballpoint pen when officers arrived on the call.
Guzman refused repeated commands to drop the pen and advanced toward officers.
Officer Grijalva fired multiple rounds, striking her at least twice in the chest.
She was finally subdued after multiple taser hits. Guzman survived and was hospitalized.
The victim she stabbed was also treated for his injuries.
