Very excited to share that the Batista-Brito lab recently got a Whitehall Foundation and a NARSAD grant! We are recruiting postdocs interested in studying neonatal cortical development using cutting-edge in vivo strategies. We encourage minorities to apply. Please RT!

Eager to share isoCycle! If interested in neural dynamics across timescales, it might be worth exploring isoCycle: A Deep Network-Based Decoder for Isolating Single Cycles of Neural Oscillations in Spiking Activity github.com/esiabri/isoCyc… Huge thanks @BatistaBritoLab more👇

Check out our latest paper with @matteosaponati, who proposes a way to understand synaptic credit assignment and spike-time-dependent-plasticity based on predictive learning and sequence anticipation
matteo saponati@matteosaponati

I am thrilled that, finally, our paper “Sequence anticipation and spike-timing-dependent plasticity emerge from a predictive learning rule” is now freely available @NatureComms nature.com/articles/s4146… We got motivated by the following questions (↓) [1/10]

@Spiegel_Lab gave compelling evidence that Hebbian disturbances short term lead to long term homeostatic changes in activity dependent changes. Activity-dependent plasticity comes down to two fundamental mechanisms linking over time. Nice stuff!

Today my 11yo said we have to go to burning man. My 9yo said what’s that? He said, “it’s a giant party in the middle of the desert where thousands of people burn a statue of God.” I said it’s not God, it’s a wooden man. He said: 🙄🙄 DAD, IT'S A METAPHOR 🙄🙄

Very excited to get this work led by @LeenaAIbrahim and Brie Wamsley out in eLife. It does a lovely job showing how Nova2 mediates alternative splicing in somatostatin interneurons. doi.org/10.7554/eLife.…

Just found out an R01 application I was really excited about isn't going to be funded, and there won't be an opportunity to reapply. This is what science is. You win some, you lose some. I can't say I'm not disappointed, but life goes on
