the /goal thing in codex is very good. i'm building a github desktop alternative for no good reason by slop forking both t3code and github desktop into the sloppiest abomination of a git client

I would recommend against it. Slack Connect is a powerful tool for any startup to interact with other startups. As you network and grow your Slack connections, it’s a super power in the industry. Also integrations for AI tools and other things in Slack is much better. You have better retention rules for any legal case and better permissions management. Having a clear line between community and work chats would be less headaches in the long run.

we're trying to run schematik on discord instead of slack (so that we're closer to our community) anyone done this?

@fizzadar but it's cheap and relatively fast so it's okay. just make a few iterations, get a taste of what you want to build, throw away all iterations and start with the human designed version and make it build that. code is so cheap it can't be wasted even if you try

Every time I have AI bootstrap something new I end up throwing it all out and writing the basic layout by hand. So good at writing code and so utterly terrible at designing systems.

@fatihguzeldev switch to low! there aren't many tasks gpt-5.5 on low can't handle. it's been one of my favorite models so far. i think medium or high is too slow and it does the gpt thing of overcomplicating too much

@eserozvataf deno did not aim for Node compatibility, that's enough for it to not get traction. also Bun is multiple things, runtime only one of them. lots of projects used it as a package manager, saw how fast it was and then gave it a shot. i don't know anyone using or praising deno

What do you think about Bun’s pivot toward Rust? I’ve been pointing this out a while now: OpenJS Foundation should have forked Deno and steward an OpenDeno of its own. The open source world has plenty of examples for this kind of move like Terraform > OpenTofu, Redis > Valkey. Deno’s ideas were mostly the right ones; I just think the community drifted elsewhere because a little too much of the story over there was being sold on dreams rather than delivery.

My man @uwukko is building my favorite browser (helium) on an M1 with 16gb RAM. I’m donating $2,000 to help him get a better Mac. If one of my rich friends wants to match it, he can get 64gb. If two do, he can do 128 👀
