Most people don’t realise where the £180 million actually went at the A303 Stonehenge tunnel project. It wasn’t construction. It was years of: • Environmental impact assessments • Heritage & archaeological studies • Legal challenges and consultations • Design, engineering and traffic modelling • Public inquiries and revisions All before a single shovel hit the ground. This is the real problem in Britain: We don’t just waste money, we build systems that guarantee it. £180 million to build nothing.

Why do you want to make everyone poorer? 1. Wealth taxes never work because they destroy capital. So it leaves and growth goes with it. Everywhere they have been tried they have failed. They lead to lower tax returns, which is filled by higher taxes for the poor and middle class or higher borrowing which leads to inflation. 2. Rent controls increase housing scarcity as the barrier means there are less landlords. This leads to a lower supply in a stable market, which means ultimately rents go up.

Your pension is just like your house or your car, it is your property. When the state tells you how it must be invested, it is the same as it telling you you don’t need a 3 bedroom house because you have no kids or you can’t have a car because you live close to work and can walk.

At what point is a government held to account for not spending their tax payers money on things that improve the lives (or roads even) of the actual tax payer?

So, the Scottish Parliament has spent two years discussing legislation that was always beyond their legislative competence. And then voted against it anyway. I suppose it gave them some way to pass their time.

I don’t know if these cheap vinyl stickers to change a number plate to UK from GB are strictly legal. They look OK though. I think this year the UK plate might stay on the fridge.
