A temporary visa is a student visa, H1-B visa, tourism vacation visa, seasonal worker visa, refugee visa ... It is not a "build my new life in the USA forever" visa. It is a temporary visa with an end date. Nobody should be upset when you don't get to stay forever.

@LAW9960 @WallStreetMav Marriage should not be a path to citizenship. I know someone who came from Canada on a student visa. Wanted to stay, but couldn't unless a student. So, kept going to school until a marriage happened. That was the end goal all along.

This whole discourse has shown me who are the cultists and who are independent thinkers. This policy should be struck down. It is completely reasonable for a college student on an F1 visa for undergrad & masters (6 yrs) fall in love with a USC, get married and maybe have a kid. What is the purpose of kicking them out to apply for marriage based GC? That is just plain heartless and needlessly cruel
