UHURU KENYATTA: My people,I tried cautioning you on electing some of these people, you defied my advice and decided to follow your own path. Today you are crying, but I know you have learnt a lesson. You also made another mistake of electing MPs who can't stand with Wanjiku during the hour of need. Their work is just receiving bribes and few pennies to sing to the tune of one person. Elect leaders not politicians.

I keep saying this, we do not lack the brains, knowledge, ability, or human resource to fix many of our broken systems. In fact, we are abundantly blessed with all of these. We are also not a poor country, as I have said before, we are simply a mismanaged one. Our biggest problems for decades, and ones that seem to worsen with each passing year, are nepotism, endless politicking, lack of genuine will, and above all, the cancer of corruption. I will never stop saying this. We are blessed with one of the most beautiful countries in the world and some of the most resilient and remarkable people. We have every opportunity to be the very best on this continent and to stand proudly among the best in the world. It is what it is. #ReclaimNairobi

@MissAlly_01 At Stansted after security, I dropped some loose change on the floor, very elegant well dressed lady pointed it out to me, before I could stop myself I said it's only 50p ,I wouldn't bend over for that, would you? She gave me a despairing shake of the head and left me to it.

@IanJamesMwaiK Character development is when you realise you arrived at your destination because that matatu was driven in the manner that annoys you when you are driving your own car.

Today I made two decisions that shocked even me. First, I cheated on my barber. Recently he’s been moving like a celebrity… doesn’t pick calls, misses appointments, acts booked and busy. Meanwhile he charges me Ksh. 3,000 per shave like he’s restoring ancient art. Today I decided enough is enough and tried a Burundi guy charging Ksh. 500. Let me tell you something… when that man turned the chair around, I almost stood up and hugged him. The fade was so clean. Second… I left my car at home and took a matatu to a meeting. At first I was tense. Then the conductor called me “boss,” the music was hitting, and somehow we reached faster than everyone stuck in traffic pretending to be important. By the time I got to the meeting I had saved fuel, parking fees, and unnecessary suffering. Character development is realizing Nairobi humbles everybody equally.
