Angus King: Twice in the last two weeks, Senator Patty Murray put a bill on the floor that would have fully funded TSA, FEMA, CISA, and the Coast Guard for the rest of the year. Inexplicably to me, that bill was blocked by my Republican colleagues.

Trump took $1 trillion out of Medicaid, 1/2 a trillion dollars out of Medicare, 100s of millions of dollars out of food for children—to give tax cuts to the ultra-rich. Now he’s spending money on WAR and making people PAY TO VOTE with his so-called SAVE Act. #NoPayToVoteSaveAct

The President of the United States can’t stop lying to the American people. Every registered voter in California gets one ballot. Not 7. Not 8. ONE. This is a man who has spent years deliberately lying about our elections because he needs you to doubt them. He needs you to lose faith in your own vote, because the moment that you do, he stops being accountable to anyone. Don’t give him that.

The President claims that the SAVE America Act is necessary to stop the scourge of noncitizen voting. So I looked at the data. The Bipartisan Policy Center analyzed the conservative Heritage Foundation’s Election Fraud Database and found only 77 cases of noncitizens successfully casting ballots in American elections over 24 years.

Trump is not protecting elections. He is trying to rig who can participate. SAVE would force citizens to dig up documents again and again and lets DHS meddle with voter rolls. Call your senators today. Keep this bill off the floor & vote no on any attempt to revive it. #NoPayToVoteSaveAct
