It has been 365 days since Colson Montgomery made his MLB debut.
The #WhiteSox have played exactly 162 games in that time (one full season). They have a 77-85 record.
Montgomery has played in 154/162. He has 42 home runs, 104 RBIs, and 5.1 fWAR as a 24 y/o shortstop.

@FeddersRic @Sam_Phalen Schwarber has 130 k’s this season alone, thats just how it goes w power hitters
English

@Sam_Phalen what about the 200+ strikeouts? Y'all love leaving that stat out.
English

English

@dufftrades_ @Sam_Phalen 77-85. Only 10 games out of the wild card! Really impressive!

@troy_harrell_ @froyo824 @BigTisback97 @TiredBlackManVI @TheoAshNFL Conveniently cuts off the pic before the 238 & 170 yard game lmao
English

@BearDownBobby @froyo824 @BigTisback97 @TiredBlackManVI @TheoAshNFL This was his second year up until that Jacksonville game. He definitely sucked then

English

@froyo824 @BigTisback97 @TiredBlackManVI @TheoAshNFL Henry outrushed fantasy god demarco murray as a rookie and had 215 carries that year (yr 2) with over 1000 yards with 12 tds splitting w lewis at a 2:1 rate lmao

A prospective trade fit that’s been crossing my mind recently if the Red Sox end up selling is the Chicago White Sox.
They’re sitting in the 2nd Wild Card spot right now and 3.5 games out of their division (while winning today’s game 6-2 as I’m writing this). They’re in a unique position where Murakami’s short term deal is working out fantastically, but to the point where they might end up losing him when he prematurely reaches FA again.
Their infield has been great and Kyle Teel is coming back to reinforce them at catcher. If they’re looking to upgrade with some urgency at the deadline, outfield and pitching would be what they’re looking for, exactly what the Red Sox could provide.
If they’re set with Vargas and Montgomery on the left side of their infield, and confident that they can get by between Meidroth and Antonacci at 2B, does that mean they’d be willing to include power hitting SS/3B prospect Caleb Bonemer in the right trade?
He’s slashing .252/.398/.597 with 15 HR in High A and scouting reports I’ve read indicate he’s likely to move off SS and settle in as a plus 3B defender. That’s exactly the type of prospect with the runway to fill a long term need the Red Sox should be targeting in a selling situation.
Idk, just a rambling thought that’s been crossing my mind recently. It all depends on the White Sox remaining in the race a few more months and showing urgency in the face of Murakami’s contract / the possibility of a lock out. But it’s a potential suitor I keep thinking about that wasn’t on the board previously.

@WYNNSANE @sonofguinness @ByMattWeyrich Especially with catchers challenges w umps who dont give a call for a ball and only strikes

English

@BearDownBobby @sonofguinness @ByMattWeyrich Trying to find the exact rule, but I’m not seeing anything about “2 seconds” to make the challenge. Where are you finding this?
English

This is the second time today HP umpire Carlos Torres has denied an ABS challenge. Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers tapped his mask after Orioles' Taylor Ward walked in the 1st, but there was no review granted.
Matt Weyrich@ByMattWeyrich
Orioles infield coach Miguel Cairo was just ejected. Catcher Samuel Basallo was denied a challenge of a ball call because his first move was to throw around the horn, thinking it was strike three. Craig Albernaz had words with HP ump Carlos Torres & Cairo was tossed from dugout.
English

@WYNNSANE @sonofguinness @ByMattWeyrich The catcher is allowed 2 seconds to make his decision on whether or not to challenge its not immediately after or not allowed dude, also looks like it grabs almost two parts of the plate definitely a pitch worthy of a challenge lol you need to get your eyes and rulebook checked
English

@BearDownBobby @sonofguinness @ByMattWeyrich The both followed the rules and got the call right, so I’m not seeing what the issue is here. Any ABS challenge has to be called for immediately. No beats in between. The catcher hesitated before signaling. The ump was just going by the rules.
English

@Jagway02 @mstrymxer @benkimpap @ByMattWeyrich Bro he immediately went to throw it around the horn thinking it was strike 3, was shocked when he didnt hear it called (catchers never actually see the call) stopped his throwing motion to tap his head what are you talking about
English

@mstrymxer @benkimpap @ByMattWeyrich When they argue they don’t gotta register shit lmfao they know he was just second guessing himself
English

@WYNNSANE @sonofguinness @ByMattWeyrich That the mlb added this whole new challenge system to stop the reliance on bad umps behind the plate so theres less arguments and bad calls that affect the outcomes and yet still umps are so ego driven they wont even accept challenges because a catcher had any sort of hesitation
English

@MattFeinbergEsq @LatrianFlayer @MLB 89th percentile in chased balls and 96th percentile with 28 walks. Again please try throwing him hangers
English

@BearDownBobby @LatrianFlayer @MLB 5 out of 14 means most are fastballs. Thanks for providing the corroboration.

English

@MattFeinbergEsq @LatrianFlayer @MLB 5/14 hrs are off of breaking balls and offspeed, please try throwing him hangers
English

@LatrianFlayer @MLB Might be up but it was a fastball and he’s able to hit em. I haven’t seen all of his home runs but the ones I’ve seen they are all off of fastballs. Again I haven’t seen them all but pitchers will make adjustments. Then he will have to make his adjustments.
English

@JarrettKreger @SoxMach_pnoles @MrDelicious13 @TheAthletic Mune leads the league in homers and we as a team are tied for 8th. martin burke and fedde all have been good to great with eras lower than 3.24, seranthony has 7 saves, were middle of the pack on D, colson is the 4th best SS defensively
English

@BearDownBobby @SoxMach_pnoles @MrDelicious13 @TheAthletic Every pitch. I guess everyone’s excited that we’re clearly not the worst team in baseball.
But on the metrics , what are we good at?
English

@GregMiller86 @Mattheius2783 @SleeperMets @JonHeyman Usually we hang onto the big bats especially 1st basemen, hung onto and hoped for Vaughn forever but the arms, the arms we love moving
English

@Mattheius2783 @SleeperMets @JonHeyman I actually really like Tong, Ewing and Benge...but you know what I like even more? Negotiating an extension to keep a player here instead of being the farm system to the rest of the MLB.

@JoshPateCFB C+ is fine rating but idk how youd go any higher, look at the record v sec opponents look at who hes had running the offenses look at all the draft picks hes had during that time. We had high expectations for last year and they got shot to hell due to ineptitude not talent

Josh Pate says South Carolina fans should be happy with a 9 win season within a 3-4 year time span and that losing with Elite athletes is okay because you aren’t Georgia, Ohio State, Texas or Oregon
