Blackhawks fans have been critical of Kyle Davidson for not signing a big forward this Summer. Kyle says he is betting on the young core to move the team towards playoffs. So if that's the case, and he so strongly believes in them, why is he not signing them to team friendly contracts THIS SUMMER before they pop? We have been told that these guys will take big steps this year. So why not give them contracts BEFORE they get really expensive next Summer? So far, he only signed Frank Nazar. These guys are on final years of their rookie deals and will need contracts next Summer: - Oliver Moore - Ryan Greene - Landon Slaggert - Artyom Levshunov - Sam Rinzel If even two of these guys pop, they will want close to $8-10 million or more next year, with this bonkers salary cap. I think if Kyle so strongly believes in them, you pay them this Summer. What's the strategy here? Hope these guys pop next year and we have to sign ALL OF THEM to crazy contracts in one Summer? We are all looking at Connor's extension, but I think extending at least some of these guys this Summer is more important.
