@kelkybugi @Moonlight_myths It’s a defense mechanism and don’t like the idea that you don’t believe them, it is somewhat offensive but if the dude wants a dna test one should be done

@Moonlight_myths The question is, why do women fight anytime a man insists on doing a DNA test?

My sister gave birth to a red-haired daughter. But she and her husband are both dark-haired. No one in our family has red hair. My sister insists that her husband's great-grandfather was red-haired, and that's how it was passed down. Her husband didn't believe her, especially since she has this one red-haired colleague at work. Anyway, he insisted on a DNA test, which they did after huge fights and screaming matches. My sister threw the paper in his face. It showed 99.9% he's the father. But he still doesn't believe it, says the test could have been faked or someone paid off the lab. He wants to do another one at a different lab, but my sister is afraid this will definitely lead them to divorce He's not even talking to my sister right now. But he says it's better to find out the truth and live with a clear conscience. He doesn't want to raise someone else's child. I believe my sister 100%, but I have to admit the situation is pretty bizarre. Does anyone know anything about genetics?

It’s a recessive gene it can be passed down many generations without showing its phenotype (red hair) then pop up out of no where. Its a definitely possible she is telling the truth , and if the DNA test came back positive that the guy is the father you have to believe that, the husband is kinda being a dick but getting another DNA test that he has control of sounds like the only thing that will convince him he is the father, but if he thinks his wife would cheat on him then fake a DNA test he has a trust issue and they seriously should consider divorce

When I got married 15 years ago the thought of not completely merging our finances did not even occur to me. It just seemed like an obvious no-brainer that married couples 100% share their financial situation.

6’ 5” 300 lbs male string out on meth breaks in , your wife is alone at home at the time , Do you expect her to ask the the large man to just leave or else she will engage in hand to hand combat? You should give the intruder a chance to leave or surrender but the moment they step forward in an aggressive manner they have signed their own death warrant .

@Beav53 @kevinxu Fair logic. Only time will tell, however I am not buying the AI fear narrative one bit. It would literally make AI obsolete if no money can be made while it exists.

I seriously need some help here. My neighbor just put up this massive metal fence right along our property line and I’m honestly pretty upset about it. It completely changed the whole feel of my driveway and now it looks like I’m pulling into some kind of industrial corridor. I had no idea this was even happening until the thing was already built. It feels like my space just got boxed in overnight. What on earth can I do in a situation like this???

I retired after making some good investments in 2020 market and have always found markets more interesting so that’s what I do now. I am still licensed to practice in Washington could go back to a practice anytime. shortages of doctors are in rural areas no shortage in the cities. That’s exactly where AI will be implemented first , in the underserved areas. As far as self driving vehicles the problem is each state and regions have different requirements and they are working on getting federal regulations to speed up the process. Trust me the boards of hospitals will lobby like hell to get federal regulations to use AI and robotics as human labor is their number one cost and could drastically increase margins using AI/robotics.

All this post said to me is this, inexperienced with the current healthcare situation. Follows the trend of what's being headlined and bites that narrative. Dude, there aren't enough doctors to begin with. Efficiency does not equate to less doctors. AI and Robotics needs oversight at minimum and those doctors will be doing just that IFFFFFF it is regulated and APPROVED in that timeframe. This goes back to why we have not yet allowed fully autonomous vehicles to freely drive yet even though it existed for decades. Its the REGULATION. AI and Tesla have already proven to be safer than regular drivers by around 5x as much with astronomical amount of miles traveled without a single accident. Why dont they just approve it right now? This is my argument. In order for this to really happen, the government will authorize the smallest test area for it and study the HELL out of it before allowing it, because humans are used to hearing humans fail. But 1 robot failure will kill all trust in robots to get it right with all that knowledge. You using your experience doesn't enhance your argument. It clouds your judgement based off your field. How do I even know you were a good doctor or didn't lose your job in a lawsuit? I see that all the time too.

First I am retired , stoped practicing in my late 30s , second I am well aware of robotic surgery options currently. 90% of doctors have nothing to do with surgery or and kinds of physical interaction. Those doctors will become more and more efficient with AI going from seeing 30-50 patients a day to 100-150 and eventually they will just sign off on AI decisions 1000s of cases a day. We won’t need new doctors. Robotics will advance a lot faster than you can imagine and within 10 years they will be doing >50% of all surgeries and within 20-25 years there will be no need for human surgeons. It takes 15-18 years to train a surgeon and in that time you will be lucky to practice a decade before human doctors are completely obsolete. So good luck paying back the couple million you have in loans by that time. This will play out for other professions lawyers accountants financial advisors the list goes on.

Thats a misconception belief stemmed from fear of your job security but not the true reality. Truth is those robots that can take your job already exist. They arent regulated to exist. Thats the problem, not the capability of AI or Robots advancements. Ever hear of that saying that whatever we know of as technology today, the government has been using behind the scenes years prior?

Coming from doctor it’s a no go , 12 plus years for college med school and residency. So in 12 years AI and robotics will be so advanced that no one will want a “new” human doctor . Even if human doctorate still a thing what maybe another 10 years to practice before all doctors are replaced?

Tell them to go into: Cybersecurity or Robotics if they like tech. Doctor cuz you cant replicate that and no people arent gonna like being operated on by a robot, at least not near-term. Law cuz a judge is NOT having a debate with a robot thats smarter than him. ....or tell them to get the worst degree of all as itll open the door for job opportunities, MBA

@BoydBischke @kevinxu Yeah right the few that are left will be so efficient and have all the experience breaking into a profession will be almost impossible , and what maybe you can practice for 10 maybe 15 years max (before AI is literally smarter and better than all humans …combined)

I pay all the bills and give my wife money to spend , although that wasn’t always the case. She now stays home with our kids after I convinced her to do so, she had been working as a dental hygienist for 18 years. Early on yes we would pick the bills to pay that was proportional to income , she made more early on and paid more and that gradually changed as I started to make more.

I think that is unbelievably complicated. If you apportion payments based on income do you write two checks for each bill and decide how much each of you contributes to the electric bill, gasoline, the mortgage, etc? Or do you sit down and decide who pays which bill? I do know couples who do this very thing, but their marriages have not lasted. Seems complex and potential for arguments. When we married it was no longer 'my money' and 'her money', it was 'our money'. The only exception is inheritances (My parents left me $0 and hers a small amount). It is fair to let her decide what to spend (or save) that money on. Other than that we agree on all major purchases before we make them.

Depends does she contribute to the house hold and if so she should be compensated in proportion for that work. Did you tell her to not work? How much would she earn if she did work? This also comes down to being a good spouse and not being a dick. But at the end of the day not everyone gets equal vote on discretionary spending after necessities are taken care of

@Beav53 @BTCBreadMan My wife doesn’t work at all… should she have no spending authority or discretionary income of her own? Budgeting as a family solves that… decisions and plans are made as a family, regardless of source of income.
