A serious worry. As a teenager I went to the GP ‘tired’ with a weird bruise. As mum was there the doc offered a blood test ‘to check’. They found Leukaemia - if this routine test wasn’t done things could have been a lot worse. In #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth this is not okay.

Today, myself & 5 GP colleagues spent a few hrs between us working out which blood tests were ‘urgent’ & which could be cancelled.This is because @NHSEngland & @DHSCgovuk have no contingency in place for the blood bottle shortage we see. We were diverted away from patient care /1
