@TabbStephen @AndyEdwards1978 @ianhf @EnglandHockey But is not that the point? Grass roots hockey is elitist. And pathways from grassroots to NAGs poor. Even if you have raw talent they will feel under confident in a predominantly private school entry environment. And retention will be an issue.

Below is a chart of the %age NAGS players from each area compared to how many players there are in each of those areas (as a %age of the whole country). (+ve = higher %age in NAGS than overall players)

Some quick stats given recent @EnglandHockey U16 & U18 NAGS squads. For 22-23 season Private School = BU16 71%, BU18 59%, GU16 93%, GU18 88%; 9 Clubs count for 50% of players, 8 schools count for 31% of players. Contribution by area over last 3 years U16/U18 is per attached chart

@thewokeyleaks Well they have been pausing recruitment for all other minorities groups for decades so I don’t think a short pause to allow catch up is a major issue??

1hr to get out of Cardiff? 4h 15mins to get home?…worth it! An amazing experience at my 1st NAGS assessment camp. Blown away by the quality of the players and the coaching they are receiving across the board. Next up, the tough bit, and the girls have made this super difficult!
