The past few weeks have marked a pivotal time in the historic partnership that has bridged our two nations for generations. I was, like all Canadians, deeply disappointed by President Donald Trump’s decision to announce damaging tariffs, but I am encouraged by the decision to pause tariffs for 30 days and the progress the pause represents. This is further evidence that diplomacy and action on border security matters. I look forward to lending my voice alongside Canada’s Premiers in Washington, D.C. where we will meet with U.S. decision makers and influencers to continue efforts to deescalate tensions between our two countries, work together on shared goals and find common ground so that we can restore our mutually beneficial and enduring friendship.

If it’s true and there isn’t an ulterior motive for him to do any of this, I do support what he’s doing. I don’t think our money should be spent on putting undocumented migrants in luxury hotels, I don’t think our money should be spent bolstering the war machine in Ukraine, I don’t think our money should be spent on real estate development and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, I don’t think our money should be spent on a lot of things it’s being spent on. And I don’t care who is guilty, Dem or GOP—if they embezzled money and committed fraud, they should be caught and persecuted. BOTH sides. No matter how powerful they are. Put them behind bars. But, I think what we see him doing is smoke and mirrors. And actually, I don’t want to be right about that, I hope that MAGA is right and I can say “I was wrong.” Because as moronic, gullible, and hypocritical I think MAGA is, I don’t want to see our country or our people suffer just for the sake of ‘MAGA tears.’

The @DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants. Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order. That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals! A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds.

I'd say most of the middle Management of AHS are NDP supporters and installed when the NDP was in power. You could likely cut 60%+ of the middle management to save millions. Then, empower the front line workers who were trained and went to school and who should know how to do their jobs without some bureaucrat telling them how to do it. Services would get better.

I have read various media stories containing allegations regarding the procurement and contracting processes of AHS. They are troubling allegations and they should be reviewed as quickly as possible.   To that end, I will be writing Auditor General Doug Wylie to ask for an expedited review and his findings on this issue.  I have also directed my officials to ensure that any request for information from Mr. Wylie or his office is dealt with on a fully transparent and expedited basis. We need to get to the bottom of this issue quickly to identify any potential wrongdoing, correct it, and address it appropriately. I have also asked that AHS’s internal review be completed as quickly as possible and delivered directly to me so we can study the results and make improvements or adjustments to these processes. Until these findings are delivered, AHS has paused the contracting for the surgical facilities under review.   As Premier, I was not involved in any wrongdoing. Any insinuation to the contrary is false, baseless and defamatory. It’s no secret I have been unhappy with the level and quality of service delivered by AHS and in the inability of AHS to deliver quality and timely healthcare to Albertans. I will continue to relentlessly push forward to make improvements. Although that has required difficult decisions and major change, I do not accept the current results. There is a widespread and deep-seated resistance to change that we must overcome.   That’s my goal: better healthcare for all.
