This platform has become a sewer. Almost impossible to have a civilised debate anymore without being sworn at. Such a shame. Do people behave like this irl? We’re doomed if so. Hoping it’s not representative of the real world 😥

@Thunda007 @OWS1892 He seemed to be talking about people who were not working. But can see there is an issue if people on very low wages are ultimately better off than people who work longer hours and don’t qualify for UC. 🤔

But it distorts the amount & it makes those who are ignorant of benefits think every Tom, Dick and Harry are getting a fortune As for who get 22k for childcare .. anybody with 2+ kids. 1836.16 x 12 = 22033 per year gov.uk/universal-cred…

@OWS1892 I wish an average unemployed person would tell us what they actually get to shut these idiots up. I'm guessing it's between 4k and 6k plus housing benefit, which usially goes to private landlords quietly making them the main recipients of benefits.

@OWS1892 Job Seekers allowance is £95.55 a week for over 25s and that gets stopped if you can’t demonstrate what you have done to find work.

@upshine3 There isn’t a straightforward test that would definitively say yes or no at that age, but the signs are usually there and support should be offered accordingly. Early intervention makes such a difference.
