God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.

Iran, with a relatively modest economy and a military budget of roughly $8 billion, is confronting the combined power of the United States and Israel with remarkable courage and resilience. In contrast, the EU - with an economy comparable in size to the U.S. and hundreds of billions in collective military spending - remains intimidated by Trump and embarrassingly subservient to Israel. Why is Iran so resilient, and the EU so pathetic?

Thank you @YvetteCooperMP for convening a call of over 40 countries on the Strait of Hormuz. This waterway is a global public good. Iran cannot be allowed to charge countries a bounty to let ships pass. International law doesn’t recognise pay-to-pass schemes. Today, we looked at diplomatic, economic, and security measures to restore safe passage, alongside working with the shipping industry. The EU’s Aspides naval mission has already assisted 1,700 ships in the Red Sea and must be scaled up. We cannot afford to lose another critical trade route. We support work by the UN on humanitarian corridors in the Strait to get food and fertilisers out. The EU has tools to track and facilitate transit that could help with that.

Valiant Iranians buried his “3-day unconditional surrender” delusion. This explains the insult that says more about the speaker: Iran had a GREAT civilization during the “stone age”—where he & his Sec of War belong. 22 minutes of noise, 0 substance. Just enough time to cash in ⬇️

Multiple attacks on health have been reported in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in recent days amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East. The Pasteur Institute in Iran sustained significant damage and was rendered unable to continue delivering health services. The Institute was established in 1920 and has been operating for over a century in multiple areas of medical research. It plays an important role in protecting and promoting population health, including in emergencies. Two of its departments have been working with @WHO as collaborating centres. In addition, the Delaram Sina Psychiatric Hospital sustained significant damage due to a strike on 29 March, and the Tofigh Daru pharmaceutical facility, which produced medicines for treating cancer and multiple sclerosis, was damaged in another attack on 31 March. No casualties were reported from these incidents. Since 1 March, WHO has verified over 20 attacks on health care in Iran, resulting in at least nine deaths, including that of an infectious diseases health worker and a member of the Iranian Red Crescent Society. Attacks on health have also been recorded outside Tehran, including on 21 March, when an explosion nearby Imam Ali Hospital in Andimeshk, Khuzestan province, led to the facility’s evacuation and cessation of services. The conflict in Iran, and the region, is impacting the delivery of health services and the safety of health workers, patients, and civilians present at health facilities. Peace is the best medicine.

Heartbreaking, cruel, despicable, and utterly outrageous: the American-Israeli aggressors have attacked the Pasteur Institute of Iran — the oldest and most prestigious research and public health center in Iran and the entire Middle East, founded in 1920 through an agreement between the Pasteur Institute of Paris and the Iranian government. This is not merely another war crime committed as part of an illegal war; it is a barbaric assault on basic human core values.

The name Persian Gulf, like many geographical designations, is deeply rooted in human history. Iran has never objected to the use of names such as the Sea of Oman, Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, or Red Sea. The use of these names does not imply ownership by any particular nation, but rather reflects a shared respect for the collective heritage of humanity. In contrast, politically motivated attempts to alter the historically established name of the Persian Gulf are indicative of hostile intent toward Iran and its people, and are firmly condemned. Such biased actions are an affront to all Iranians, regardless of their background or place of residence. Let's hope that the absurd rumors about the PERSIAN Gulf that are going around are no more than a disinformation campaign by "forever warriors" to anger Iranians all over the world and agitate them. I am confident that @realdonaldtrump is aware that the name PERSIAN Gulf is centuries old and recognized by all cartographers and international bodies and was even used by all leaders of the region in their official communications until as recently as 1960's. While any short-sighted step in this connection will have no validity or legal or geographical effect, it will only bring the wrath of all Iranians from all walks of life and political persuasion in Iran, the U.S. and across the world. #PERSIAN_Gulf Image: Library of the U.S. Congress

After 12 months of attacking UN premises, even as they were sheltering IDPs, sick persons and peacekeepers; killing over 200 UN staff in less than 1 year; vilifying and defaming senior UN officials and organisations; a parliamentary act that outlaws the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, a UN subsidiary organ of the UN General Assembly, is a fatal and intolerable blow for the UN Charter and the multilateral system. The aim is to accelerate the erasure of Palestinian presence, including through unconscionable humanitarian consequences. May this affront be the straw that breaks the camel's back, and may it mark the beginning of the end of Israel's impunity. #UNseatIsrael

Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention
The Lemkin Institute has had it with the cynical lies and propaganda from Israel and the USA. One can have different views about the definition of genocide, but one may not use definitional disputes to deny genocide. If a genocide may be occurring, every nation is compelled by customary law to try to stop it. Let us be clear: Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. The US is complicit in genocide. These are not political statements. They are statements that are made from knowledge and experience. Nevertheless, you do not need a PhD , a law degree, or X-ray vision to see the genocidal dimensions of Israel’s carnage in Gaza. It is clear in the behavior of the state and its military, on full display in yesterday’s horrific bombardment of a Rafah camp. But even if there were legitimate doubts about Israel’s genocide, there is no doubt that Israel is committing atrocity crimes of the most barbaric kind. Israel must be stopped. Israel must be stopped now. We are disgusted by Western leaders, especially in the USA, Germany, and the UK. They have demonstrated not only that they don’t care one bit about genocide prevention and human rights, but also that they are willing to allow an ally to commit atrocity crimes while they offer material and diplomatic support. It is reprehensible and the individuals involved in this gaslighting campaign should be deeply ashamed. They should also be put on trial. Humanity has a choice: Either we decide that our children can all be killed whenever a superior force alleges that “terrorists” are among us, or we decide that under no circumstances will we allow these superior forces to lay waste to our world any longer. We each must choose and act accordingly. The watershed moment is now.
