🚨 Anthropic may have already finished training something stronger than Mythos 5: A new leak claims Anthropic has completed training a more capable Mythos class model: • Reportedly more powerful than the last Mythos model • Could potentially become Mythos 5.1 or Mythos 6 • The final product name remains unknown • No authentic benchmark table has surfaced • There is currently no confirmed public release date • Anthropic may also keep it internal to accelerate future model research The biggest question is whether ordinary users will ever receive access to it. GPT 5.6 SOL CANNOT BE TRUSTED. I woke up this morning and my MRR was down THOUSANDS of dollars. My customers did not cancel. Code written by GPT 5.6 Sol canceled EVERY active Stripe subscription my business had. In 7 seconds. While I slept. Fable 5 has never done this to me. Fable 5 can be trusted with production. GPT 5.6 cannot.

Updates for Codex and ChatGPT Work users. No nerfing, only good stuff! - We have landed inference optimizations and are passing down savings to all the subscriptions for GPT-5.6 Sol. That should result in around 10% more usage on its own. - We noticed that by changing the context size limit in the product to 372k for GPT-5.6 Sol, up from 272k for GPT-5.5, it resulted in more usage being charged than intended. We have reverted to 272k and will work to roll back out to 372k in the days to come. You should notice that usage drains significantly less after this change. - To understand where the extra usage was coming from, we ran some experiments where reasoning efforts were changed (referred to as juice values under the hood) and have reverted this. - There is slightly more usage of multi-agent than intended in high and xhigh reasoning effort, we are fixing this going forward. Also fixing a small other thing we noticed with auto-review where we can be more efficient. And we continue to have the 5h limit temporarily not apply. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

We're extending Claude Fable 5 access on all paid plans, as well as keeping Claude Code’s weekly rate limits 50% higher, through July 19.

@haider1 Agreed, and Let along the supposed 50% increase that is meant to be removed as well

anthropic can't compete with Fable 5 gone and opus 4.8 as its flagship if they removed it from subscriptions, multiple rumors suggest opus 5 could launch soon, which would possibly be distilled from Mythos for lower-cost usage but opus 5 has to compete with all gpt-5.6 variants

@dedene 100% canceling my 20x if that really goes forward... $200 for 4.8 on reduced usage is far from good sense

GPT 5.6 Sol is our best model so far at ~everything. It's remarkable how stark the difference is with GPT-5.5 across coding, hard context and strategy tasks, building sites, ... and literally anything I need to get done. Totally requires raising the ambition of what you try.

My gut feeling says this will happen today: OpenAI will not release GPT-5.6 today. No Sol no Luna no Terra. Anthropic will extend the Fable 5 access time. Just my wild guess :)

Claude Cowork is coming to mobile and web. Hand Claude a task at your desk and pick up the finished work from your phone. Close the laptop and Claude keeps going. Beta is rolling out over the next several weeks starting with the Max plan, with more plans to follow.
