@drpeterjbrown @daisychristo Agree with this! What do we do with decisions sat well within the uncertainty of the measurement? Maybe decision stays with the on-field call? Sure there used to be such thing as 'level' for manual offsides, which was accepted, sort of dealt with uncert., + benefitted attackers.

During lockdown, I wrote 30k words about VAR and measurement theory. No-one wanted to publish it - they all said it was mad. But offsides like this Coventry one mean I can't stop thinking about it. 3 major issues.

But I'm a 30 year old 6ft man and still change my routes at night. Even the lower risk I enjoy doesn't mean I do it, don't think it's sensible for anyone to go out alone on a dark, quiet route.

As of today it's now too dark outside after work to do any of my normal running routes alone. This is peak "jealous of men" season

@legsidelizzy Putting it out there can help give validation and strength to others, a positive effect for others at least. Have had disappointing experiences where you end up feeling even more alone, but I think people can still learn to help if they have patience to listen & understand.

But certainly, admitting you’re struggling changes the way people react to you. And with hindsight, it might just be better to say you’re fine

Don't be afraid to ask for what you want/need. It's your training. 3. Stay curious. 4. Plan to take care of yourself. 5. Enjoy!
