@jasonfitz You could set it up so the teams with better records have to win fewer games to win the draft tournament. It would incentivize everyone to try to be at least 7th best.

This would only incentivize more good teams to tank. If I know I have a pretty good roster but not good enough to win it all, I tank all season until the tournament knowing my team is actually better than the rest come tourney time. This won’t solve anything.

@BenjySarlin If they did it correctly they could generate more $ with a tourney making easier to shrink the schedule. More healthy good players in the playoffs ideally, killing 2 birds at the same time.

Late season lottery teams are packed with fringe players and expiring contracts, in addition to the terrible basketball you can’t ask them to fight to draft their replacements. Just get rid of pick protections and maybe flatten odds a little more.
