@adamcifu My 100+ year old primary care patient would always bring up a problem, I’d suggest a solution, and he’d decline it saying “it’s probably just old age.” And we danced that dance for 3 years.

Saw a patient in their 10th decade this week. They declined 3 of my 4 recommendations. Not much I could say...

@MikeRoseMDMPH I think we do it because we have the most knowledge of the rotations and expectations compared to front office admin. Maybe this is Stockholm syndrome though.

@tarhealer Mayo Clinic used to have on site sick day care..kids who had mild illness and can not got to school could go there. May have closed now due to COVID etc.

Does ANYONE know of a hospital that has actual on-site childcare? Available to physicians, nurses, residents? Has hours that actually accommodate front-line healthcare worker hours? Has actual availability? Or was that just another Grey’s Anatomy tall tale?

@pulmtoilet How comfortable do you feel about pressors through an EJ? Do you consider it a true PIV or do you do higher or lower with it given the anatomy and territory you’re in?

Musings after 2 weeks of nights: 1. I put in triple the amount of PIVs than I did central lines #EJfirst 2. Sorry but the cook exchange catheter sucks 3. Failing Bipap happens more often than we think and prob leave Patients on it too long 4. Aspiration sucks
