@str8dog83 Plata is worse tonight. We have to ride with Blake and speed them up
English

@ChrisMWilliams Bleeding from his face. Caught a finger or something
English

@TheLawyerOwl @AlaneAddie @ASFleischman But also, I’ve seen a judge get exasperated with “sir”. To laypeople it’s seems pedantic and ticky tacky but there are a lot of “sirs” and “ma’am’s” in a courtroom. There is only one judge.
English

@AlaneAddie @ASFleischman I don't practice in Oklahoma. It is possible that there is some regional variance there and this is normalish. But I doubt it. It's also *much* more important with a female judge. "Sir" is less likely to be taken as deliberate disrespect.
English

Interesting video going around of an Oklahoma lawyer crashing out and getting arrested for contempt, then resisting the arrest. I found what seems to be a full video of the hearing, but it's worth breaking down what happened. 1/

@Rushthewriter Listening to only disco for 3 years would drive me insane. Don’t care how fun it is
English

Matt Damon's character has been pretty cool, but hating disco is lame. that's like hating the sound of fun #FearMyBotanyPowers

@NickSabatoGNN @ralphDrussoATH @DanWolken Not sure your market, mine was Midwest, lower midsize airport. Weather, flight cancellations, and the rare major local event would all impact returns in a way that could cause reservation problems. Smaller fleet size also leaves less margin on returns
English

@BenKenkel @ralphDrussoATH @DanWolken People being late is a minor reason. We might have had five late returns at the most on any given day. If a car wasn't available for reservation, 99% of the time it was because we were overbooked.
English

@NickSabatoGNN @ralphDrussoATH @DanWolken This, or ya know, or many people who had vehicles before you are late returning them for any number of reasons. Rental cars are not hotel rooms. They aren’t always on site
English

@ralphDrussoATH @DanWolken They book on a 20% no-show rate. A lot of people book rentals without paying and either don't show up or find another car without canceling the first.
English

@ESPN_BillC Can I assume that Iowa State is holding down that last place position in the bottoms ten?
English

@chrismpeters Just didn’t seem to make an impact on the greater hockey environment. I’m in Des Moines and we never heard about them at all, despite their relationship with the Wild. Just odd
English

@BenKenkel It always seemed like kind of a long shot for any team not tied to the University gaining a foothold. sold out the first game in team history and it was an awesome environment, never sold out again.
English

Hugely disappointing news. Been an absolute blast calling select home games for the Landers since the inaugural season and even better to have a team 15 minutes from our front door for my kids to enjoy.

English

@VoxPrudentia It makes more sense when you look at it from an attorney accountability framework. Judges have limited/no oversight over out of state practitioners but if you make counsel tie themselves to local practitioners it gives the judges wider authority to manage dockets/behavior
English

@Greg651 Attorney explained he let the habeas order “fall through the cracks”. In this specific instance it may be a judge/district trying to get an attorneys attention and his admission of attention to the case kinda ties the courts hands.

Hey @DrakeLawSchool, you hiring? 👀😂
Garrett Shanley@garrettshanley
Exclusive: Fla. Attorney General James Uthmeier earns $100k salary as a part-time professor at @UF’s law school for just two hours of instruction per week. The teaching gig pushes his total state paycheck to $240k — nearly $100k more than @GovRonDeSantis’ salary. miamiherald.com/news/politics-…

@AMWorley_Writer @EnerGeoPolitics @AlexNowrasteh Swap FDR for Grant or Hoover (corruption in both of those admins and the coverups)
English

@EnerGeoPolitics @AlexNowrasteh -Adams (Alien & Sedition Acts)
-Andrew Johnson
-Wilson (Espionage & Sedition Acts, infirmity)
-Harding (fostered corruption)
-FDR (internment of citizens)
-Nixon
-Reagan (Iran-Contra)
-Clinton
-Trump
I could list others, but those seem obvious.

@VoxPrudentia “let me make this point in LATIN to impress everyone about how pretentious I am” the profession really needs to understand they serve people and should communicate in a way that reflects that
English

It means you're casting either Disguise Self or Seeming.

Ask your corporate lawyer if he knows what mutatis mutandis means. If not, they still have training to do.

@SeanTrende I think trespass *in this instance* is a tougher sell because a church is generally open to visitors so it’s not as straightforward as he was somewhere he wasn’t supposed to be. In my experience criminal charges would be unlikely as a prosecutorial discretion choice
