In time for #EarthScienceWeek our paper published in @NatureComms today explores the interactions between spreading ridges and mantle plumes. 🔥
We found that when mantle plumes are coupled to spreading ridges, they can act as an anchor ⚓️ and impede spreading ridge migration.

@RosGleadow I think this is only a problem when feeding cows chicken-derived “protein”. At least that’s what I gathered from this podcast. Feeding this to cows is against the rules in Australia but not a problem in the US.
