The Liberals are still hinting they’ll create a digital safety commissioner to police online speech. They should take a close look at Australia’s experience. Theirs quickly turned into the kind of bureaucratic censorship regime many had warned about. nationalpost.com/opinion/josh-d…

It's a simple fact that the Howard government was the highest taxing government in Australia's history. If the budget next week raises taxes to that Howard peak, it would mean $18 billion of extra taxes per annum. Tim Wilson's numbers on tax have more holes than a packet of rigatoni

You either don't know the difference between wholesale and retail, or you do and you're deceiving on purpose. The cost of renewables is being largely hidden in network costs, the fraud of 'gold plating' is actually just the red-herring for 'making the grid able to withstand the realities of intermittent renewables', and these network costs are most of the difference between the wholesale electricity price, and the retail, and that's why posts like yours are lies. The wholesale price can go down because it doesn't include the externalities, the network costs. Looks great on a spreadsheet, but doesn't help bills.

An Empire of Bureaucracy has risen, casting a heavy shadow over the New South Wales landscape. From the ivory towers of Macquarie Street, the Dark Lords of Regulation tighten their grip, enforcing endless mandates and demanding a larger tribute of credits from every hardworking citizen. The "Imperial Senate" believes that through more control, more taxes, and more red tape, they can bring "order" to the galaxy. But we know the truth: freedom dies to the sound of thunderous applause for a new levy. While the Empire builds its legislative Death Stars, a small but spirited band of freedom fighters is gathering in the heart of NSW. The NSW Libertarians are the Rebel Alliance of this story. We don’t have an army of faceless stormtroopers; we have the power of individual liberty, free markets, and personal responsibility. Where the Empire sees every social problem as an excuse for a new department, the Rebels know that the best solutions come from people, not politicians. This May the Fourth, don't let the Empire strike back with more soul-crushing regulation. The Force is what gives a free society its power - an energy field created by all living things, not a central planning committee. It surrounds us and binds the economy together through voluntary exchange. Join the Resistance today and help us restore freedom to the state. May the Force of Liberty be with you! #MayTheFourth #libertarian

Anthony Albanese appears set to break more promises in a budget he's calling his most important yet. A year on from his history-making election victory, the Prime Minister is foreshadowing the very tax changes he once ruled out.

Small businesses are the true engine room of the New South Wales economy, representing over 97% of all firms and employing more than 1.5 million people. These enterprises are the risk-takers and innovators that provide the lifeblood of our local communities. When they thrive, they create wealth and foster the competition essential for a healthy state. However, record-low confidence proves this engine is currently being stifled by excessive state interference. The NSW Libertarians believe the only way to reignite growth is through a return to true capitalism and genuinely free markets. True capitalism is not about protecting large, politically connected corporations; it is about protecting the freedom of the individual to compete and trade without a heavy government hand. By removing restrictions that hamper growth, we allow for natural price discovery and reward efficient operators. We must slash the "red tape tax" of complex industrial relations and restrictive zoning that burdens small owners. When the government stops "picking winners" and gets out of the way, economic liberation allows the engine room to roar back to life. Joye's thoughts on incentivising entrepreneurs. @cjoye is one of the most influential voices in Australian finance, a fund manager, economist, public policy thinker, and weekly Australian Financial Review columnist. In this conversation, Joye delivers his starkest warnings yet about Australia's economic future. He explains why the Reserve Bank's humiliating policy reversals have set us up for a multi-year recession, how record immigration and government spending have created an inflation crisis, and why we're heading for the worst property downturn since 1991. Joye also dissects Trump's economic revolution in America and reveals why Australia risks becoming "Asia's Ibiza" unless we fundamentally change course. @ClassicsofRome John Ruddick called out that exact point and how we can learn from the US on the ability to get signatures for no confidence in the recent 2worldsCollide podcast he appeared on. I think his approach is a great idea, and we definitely need the capability to get traitors out

Bret Weinstein’s analysis of the 80 Ivermectin court cases reveals a mind blowing statistic. In the 40 cases where Ivermectin was permitted, 38 survived. In the 40 cases where it was not, 38 died. Using a standard statistical formula, the chances that Ivermectin had no impact are roughly 1 in 20 quadrillion. Yet, we were denied this treatment. This is one of the biggest medical tragedies in modern history!
