@svdate He also committed federal tax fraud with it. Shortly after the '16 election, he late-filed a notice conceding that he had engaged in self-dealing with the foundation, and that he had done so in prior years. Like so many of his transgressions, it just fell into the memory hole.

Trump had to shut that foundation down as part of the settlement with the New York State attorney general, who had sued him for fraud, including using foundation money for personal and business expenses.
